akcash Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) This guy has really impressed me. He is all over the field, always in position. Making plays, has a big presence out there. Another home run for Beane and for us. Edited October 3, 2022 by akcash 1 3 1 Quote
Ya Digg? Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) You clearly weren’t reading the GDT then!!! (BTW I completely agree with you) Edited October 3, 2022 by Ya Digg? 1 Quote

Hamlin seems like a much better cover guy. 2 2 Quote

You mean except when he comes up to make a tackle on a run play and acts as the edge setting defender and then let's the RB bounce outside him for 15 yards and a first down? 3 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I am surpised that he started over JJ as I didn't even think he would start today. He played a solid game 1 Quote

Giuseppe Tognarelli Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I found the lack of comments about Johnson being benched for him surprising. It is a very interesting development. 1 Quote

Richard Noggin Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Hamlin flashed in the backfield on a few aggressive play calls (or reads by him, perhaps) last week, so I sure wasn't surprised that he got the nod this week alongside Poyer. If part of the secret sauce for this defense is interchangeable safeties, then Hamlin seems to have a similar game to Poyer. Quote
NickelCity Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 JJ just seemed slow to read the plays last week, and I thought there was some of that in the preseason as well interestingly. Quote

It is a very interesting development. Joe Buscaglia called it earlier in the week. He said Hamlin is a better fit next to Poyer. And he noticed that Hamlin had been with the ones more than Johnson this week. Quote
ILBillsfan Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Hamlin is a FS not SS that is what Johnson is SS and is the back up for Poyer. Some talk about moving Poyer to Hyde's spot and then bringing in Johnson along side him. I think they should stay with Poyer Hamlin vs changing out two spots technically 3 Quote

Johnson seems like a hard hitter, and does well blitzing and in run support. Just doesn’t seem to have the necessary cover skills that they require in this defense from the safeties. Just wait though when Tre is back, and they shift Benford to safety. Gonna be some elite coverage on the back end!! Quote

A little film review and some more experience will clean this up. Quote
