Boatdrinks was calling out the media for pointing out that DeSantis acknowledged the help of the feds. That's all.

I don't know what he was pointing out with his comment.

How horrible it would be to packing up and leaving your house knowing it might be swamped with water. Awful!

Hope it isn't that bad

We had a house burn down in a california wildfire….it’s not fun. But, you learn to deal with it. With that said, I’ll echo your sentiments that everyone is OK. Possessions can be replaced.

Anyone in the path of this, stay safe!

thank you Doc - I'm right in the anticipated bullseye. I live very close to the water near Siesta Key and very fortunately, a friend offered to let us stay at his AirBnB 10 miles inland.

We have very good friends in Sarasota.  They're freaking out.

My daughter pulled out of Orlando this afternoon, she just texted me that she was in Georgia and that traffic was “surprisingly” light.

Understandably so. Mandatory evacuations have already begun in Sarasota County and we're getting updates as to whether our address will be tagged as an evacuation zone.

I have a childhood friend in Sarasota. He’s been documenting it.

If they are freaking out why didn’t they leave?

There are reports that President DeSantis is right there standing on the coast ready to deflect the wind and rains - he's giving it all he has...  what a true leader!!

Freaking out in terms of the devastation it will cause.  Not for their lives.

Wing on wing is what sailors call it. 🙄

And it’s called a jib.

You sure you sail?

I’ve never heard butterfly to describe wing on wing. I’ve lived on boats for summers and raced offshore. Lol
