Low Positive Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Beane know the actual extent of all the injuries and has a limited resources to plug holes. Doyle’s spot had to be filled and Benfors just had hand surgery. Poyer will be back soon and the team likes their depth at Safrey more than at OG and CB Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Miami punted 5 out of the 8 possessions. Hills was held to 33 yards passing. Our defense played well. 2 Quote

Nothing can be discussed ever, because it's just a foolish attack of the mighty Buffalo Bills franchise. I wonder why people like this come to forums like this. They don't want to discuss anything anyway. You’re welcome to bring them up and we’re welcome to tell you you’re full of ***** 1 1 Quote

But they also view those spots as special teams guys like Johnson and Hamlin were before the injuries. Not just replacing safeties, with Kumerow down and Hyde being hurt, that makes 2 extra special teams roles needing filled, and make it 3 if Poyer doesn’t play. I didn’t fact check but I doubt Hamlin and Johnson started and played special teams but I could be wrong. And rather we like it or not, we know for fact Mcdermott prioritizes special teams play. If anything the team has shown us that they like interchangeable players there are players at corner right now they can play safety in this defense I don’t really understand all the hubbub anyway because I thought Johnson played well the defense as a whole played well 1 Quote

And even with a fully healthy Hyde and Poyer back there we’ve seen plenty of long 3rd down conversions over the years. There’s going to be growing pains anytime anyone new is worked in. The pass rush mostly covered up any possible mistakes the first couple weeks. Overall though as far as defense, the Miami game should be considered a success given the situation. Quote

The guy on the PS isn't even experienced enough to come in. This team refuses to use Neal on defense. I don't even know if he played any defense in the preseason. I guess they could use Cam Lewis who never seems to be healthy anyways. Right now we have 3 total safeties on roster, and IMO Johnson really struggled last game. With a couple vets still on market (Landon Collins, Jaquiski Tartt, etc) it seems strange that it is being neglected. They gotta be close to having no funds left... Go Bills!! Quote
RyanC883 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I think Rhodes goes there once everyone is healthy, perhaps Benford long term. 1 Quote

Ummm, maybe not? There's probably a lot more examples of football team's who look great and then for whatever reason never get over the hump. I don't like mortgaging future assets but maybe this is the year Beane has to make some in-season trades to help get a Super Bowl ready team solidified. The injuries in the secondary and lack of run support to take pressure off of Allen are gonna be a thing. Like what? Elite pass rusher? We got it. Elite CB? Check Elite Safety? Double check. Elite WR with a rock solid #2? Boom bam. Above average OL? We have 3. Young, high potential starting OL? We have 2. We are 2-1, relax. 1 hour ago, RyanC883 said: I think Rhodes goes there once everyone is healthy, perhaps Benford long term. To FS? Yes I agree. Quote

They only had the ball 18 minutes and moved the ball when they did. I'm not advocating for any knee jerk spending sprees here, but if our receiving corps keeps taking the hits they are with injuries, OBJ is more and more tempting if he can be had for a contender discount and is healthy. they punted 3 times in that 18 minutes. Our D played valiantly Quote
wppete Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 (edited) Sign OBJ and trade a second for either a top tier CB, S or OL. Our time is now. Edited September 29, 2022 by wppete Quote
