Beane know the actual extent of all the injuries and has a limited resources to plug holes. Doyle’s spot had to be filled and Benfors just had hand surgery. Poyer will be back soon and the team likes their depth at Safrey more than at OG and CB

I agree. And even with a fully healthy Hyde and Poyer back there we’ve seen plenty of long 3rd down conversions over the years. There’s going to be growing pains anytime anyone new is worked in. The pass rush mostly covered up any possible mistakes the first couple weeks. Overall though as far as defense, the Miami game should be considered a success given the situation.

This team refuses to use Neal on defense.  I don't even know if he played any defense in the preseason.

 

I guess they could use Cam Lewis who never seems to be healthy anyways.

 

Right now we have 3 total safeties on roster, and IMO Johnson really struggled last game.  With a couple vets still on market (Landon Collins, Jaquiski Tartt, etc) it seems strange that it is being neglected.  

They gotta be close to having no funds left...

I don't like mortgaging future assets but maybe this is the year Beane has to make some in-season trades to help get a Super Bowl ready team solidified.  The injuries in the secondary and lack of run support to take pressure off of Allen are gonna be a thing.

Elite Safety? Double check. 
Elite WR with a rock solid #2? Boom bam. 
Above average OL? We have 3.

Young, high potential starting OL? We have 2.

I'm not advocating for any knee jerk spending sprees here, but if our receiving corps keeps taking the hits they are with injuries, OBJ is more and more tempting if he can be had for a contender discount and is healthy.
