msw2112 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 It's a tough decision, especially in the 2nd half. As we all surely saw, the Bills could have really used one more time out, but the ones they did manage to save turned out to be vitally important in the final minutes. Had they challenged the Davis TD and lost (which is probably more likely than not), they might not even have had the chance that they did to win the game at the end. Quote
frostbitmic Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I tend to think that the reason McD is so bad on challenges is bad advice from the guy in the box. I, of course think I could do a better job. 😎 Quote
Augie Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Well, I guess it’s not that easy, is it? I thought live it was a drop/knocked out. I thought on the replay it met the elements of a catch. Two hands, two feet, turned his body (football move), catch in the end zone. That’s a TD. BUT, a number of people I respect disagree. Tossing that red challenge flag is not an easy decision. Edited September 28, 2022 by Augie Quote
BillsGuru4 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 In real time it didn’t look like a catch. In slow motion replay, it did. Period. Worth a look. I understand we needed our time outs, but maybe not as badly if that was overturned. Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I think the fact that Gabe Davis didn't act like it was a catch influenced the refs. If he celebrated with his teammates, there's a chance one of the refs signals TD and it would at least go to review. 1 Quote

If you throw a red flag there on a play that cannot be challenged, it is supposed to be a flag. McDaniel threw it to challenge a non-call on an intentional grounding. Should have been a penalty. Or at least charged for a TO Quote
