Trevor Lawrence….another quality young buck in the AFC?

He is tearing up the chargers today and all in all has had a great start to this season.   Looks like he has a much better organization this year.   Looks like another quality AFC qb who will be around for a while.

Well, he was the first overall pick based on the talent he showed in college.  He got stuck on an absolute dumpster fire of a team.  Finally he's getting a chance to compete.  Will he be one of the top QBs?  That's largely up to him, to keep improving a la Josh Allen's first two years.

Yeap, I guess no "around the NFL week 3" thread ever got created cause I was hoping this would be brought up.  Ever since losing to the Commanders in week 1 he and the Jags have looked good.  Next week's Jags/Eagles game could be interesting.

Happy for the Jags. They've been through a lot, but the arrow is pointing up for them.

I think he'll end up better than Burrow and Herbert. Allen and Mahomes level I don't know.

Jags are legit and a top team in the AFC right now.

 

Question remains whether or not they'll be able to sustain this but as I've said before Doug Pederson won a SB just 5 years ago and is one of the best coaches in the NFL.

You see how they run the offense - they have a few quality running backs - one tore his Achilles 10 months ago, the other his Lisfranc 13 months ago - THEY RUN THE BALL WELL.  

 

 

That element has to be there. 

 

Not to be ground and pound.  

 

But to protect your QB and open the passing game - a running attack gives your QB time because the D line can't just tee off knowing it's a pass 95% of the time.  

 

Figure out the freaking running attack please.

Peterson is a quirky guy, but you can’t deny he got some great results early in Philly and is showing promise in Jax.  Lawrence was considered a sure thing, super star QB just a year ago, he SHOULD be good.  Early indications, the game is slowing down and people better take notice.
