NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread

Knew that the loss was coming.  Just felt in a funk all week with all the injuries and the news about Hyde made me just not care about the game today and hoped for the best.

 

Hopefully they can get healthy now and back on track next week.

I expected the loss but the fact that we played like utter trash with so many injuries makes it easier to take. Clean things up, heal up, and we’ll be fine.

Agreed. If I was neutral, that game would tell me that in the long run the Bills are the stronger team, probably by a good amount.

 

BUT, I give Miami's defense a lot of credit. They were on the field forever and they still really played tough all day. They were hitting, covering. They made life difficult for Josh who gutted it out but clearly didn't have his usual magic. Miami is going to make some noise. They seem like a scrappy wild card team to me. And they deserve a lot of credit for hanging in that game and making plays. Sure the Bills missed some opportunities. But so did the Dolphins. They dropped a few potential interceptions.

 

Anyway, very difficult to watch. Can't say I enjoyed it. But it was just one of those weird games that happen pretty regularly in the NFL. Too bad we couldn't get a chance for a kick at the end. But given the week we've had, kind of fitting. I plan to forget this past week immediately.

Honestly this is a game where you’re proud of the guys that played out there. I mean just brutal conditions

A lot of people here seem to have thought the injuries wouldn't matter, simply because we won the first two games the way we did.

 

Other Bills fans hadn't (or still have not) caught on that Miami is a solid team this year.

As far as straight physical play I thought the secondary did “OK”

 

It wasn't terrible but hurt us at bad times like that deep throw to Waddle...no way that was a completion against Hyde and Poyer...

 

Milano dropping a pick 6 didn't help

The Bills dominated and lost. Just depleted themselves as the game wore on.  Hell of an effort on both sides of the ball but I think fatigue led to a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes.

If Allen is injured that will just cap off what was certainly one of the most frustrating regular season losses in a long time.

What I learned: If half of our defensive starters are out, our right side of the offensive line is second string, we’re down to our 3rd string center and we’re playing in torturous heat you maybe, just maybe, stand a chance to beat the bills.

It would not have been overturned and would have wasted a timeout.

 

Actually I just remembered that timeout we wasted on a 1st or 2nd down early in the 2nd half. That stings.

They beat our 2nd/3rd stringers with their starters by 2 points.

Phins D played really well... Offense after first 2 drives looked just a little out of synch enough so they couldnt finish drives.
