HappyDays Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Trade deadline is November 1. The way I see it, Jaquan Johnson gets a 4 game audition to prove he's ready to be the future at safety. If he fails his audition we make a move. 4 1 Quote

Coffeesforclosers Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Speedy recovery to Hyde, and next man up. The last thing we need is to end up like the Colts of years passed, trotting out the ghost of Bob Sanders to keep their D viable. Quote

The inevitable you and me both dude. Big blow but the front 7 is stout, the line is deep and at the offense can’t be stopped. No time to fret. This is still our year. 2 1 Quote

Either way we have the best secondary coaching in the league. They'll figure it out. 1 Quote
zow2 Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Well, it seems the football gods are starting the work to make sure Buffalo never wins a SB. That’s what it feels like. There’s no stopping this club… except for massive injuries to important people. 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Damn ..knew it was bad...wonder if this is career threatening as stated upthread Quote
Big Blitz Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 (edited) Have to make a trade. Of course you can't right now because we still have 15 weeks of other injuries that are inevitable Nice work injury thread post guy Edited September 24, 2022 by Big Blitz Quote
JohnBonhamRocks Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Safety is one of the positions we could afford to have this happen. Johnson is no slouch and McDermott is a DB whisperer. 1 Quote
Pabstblueribbon Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 This sucks. I wonder if this is it and he decides to retire? I hope he gets well and can return next year. Quote

As I said in the offseason, the full import of “13 Seconds” would only be realized if we don’t get that close again. The Bills had a red carpet laid out for them last season and the coaches screwed it up. Losing Hyde is manageable but they can’t afford too many more. 3 4 3 Quote

I would think there's a high chance he could end up retiring from this. He'll be 32 in a couple months and this is not a minor injury. Quote
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Bummer news. Get well soon Micah! Early hot take.. with both Benford and Elam getting so much playing time early in the season and looking pretty good and with Tre coming back from injury in a few weeks any chance any of them can make the conversion from corner to Free Safety? I believe it is not unheard of for corners to convert to safeties later in their careers. As good as Tre is I'm not sure he has the build for a safety. I'm also mostly intrigued because I hate to have one of Benford or Elam on the bench when Tre comes back when they are playing so well. But first lets see how Jaquan Johnson plays. His time to step up. And he will have a great supporting cast around him. Quote

Given age and where the injury is, regardless of severity, we may have seen the last of Micah on the field for the Bills. Quote
