Tiberius Posted November 3, 2022 Author Posted November 3, 2022 Saudi Arabia has shared intelligence with the U.S. warning of an imminent attack from Iran on targets in the kingdom, putting the American military and others in the Middle East on an elevated alert level, said Saudi and U.S. officials In response to the warning, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and several other neighboring states have raised the level of alert for their military forces, the officials said. They didn’t provide more details on the Saudi intelligence. Saudi officials said Iran is poised to carry out attacks on both the kingdom and Erbil, Iraq, in an effort to distract attention from domestic protests that have roiled the country since September. The White House National Security Council said it was concerned about the warnings and ready to respond if Iran carried out an attack. “We are concerned about the threat picture, and we remain in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the Saudis,” said a National Security Council spokesperson. “We will not hesitate to act in the defense of our interests and partners in the region.” https://www.wsj.com/articles/saudi-arabia-u-s-on-high-alert-after-warning-of-imminent-iranian-attack-11667319274

B-Man Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 (edited) Iran Votes to Execute Protesters, Says Rebels Need ‘Hard Lesson’ After numerous calls for harsh punishments in recent days, the Iranian parliament recently voted overwhelmingly in favor of the death penalty for protesters. Iran has been experiencing unprecedented levels of protests and civil unrest since the death of Mahsa Amini on September 16. The 22-year-old Kurdish woman was arrested by the country’s “morality police” for supposedly wearing an “improper” form of hijab during a visit to Tehran and allegedly beaten severely while in custody. Iranian lawmakers have, in recent days, called for strict punishments for the protesters who have been arrested. On Monday, CNN reported that a letter signed by 227 members of the Iranian parliament urged that the protesters be given harsh punishment that “would serve as a good lesson in the shortest possible time.” Read more from Newsweek: https://www.newsweek.com/iran-votes-execute-protesters-says-rebels-need-hard-lesson-1757931 . Coffeesforclosers Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 I heard a story once about ancient China. Some sherriff out in the sticks had captured a bunch of criminals. He was waiting to turn them over to the emperor's officials. While he was waiting the prisoners escaped. The emperor's officials arrived and were not happy. So the sherriff asks the officials what the punishment for losing the criminals was. The officials said it was death. So he asked them what the punishment was for rebellion. They said it was death. So he started a rebellion. 1 1

B-Man Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Took about 2 minutes. (this illustrates clearly that your refusal to even read other viewpoints leaves you ignorant of where conservatives stand) Washington, DC – The International Republican Institute (IRI) issued the following statement on the ongoing protests taking place in the Islamic Republic of Iran: “IRI stands in solidarity with the protestors in Iran who are fighting for their most basic human rights. This women-led movement, sparked by the death of 22-year old Mahsa Amini while being detained by Iran’s morality police, has shone a spotlight on the systematic repression of women and all Iranians by the Islamic Republic. Recent reports that more than 20 children were killed by government forces last month underscore the brutality and cruelty of this regime. https://www.iri.org/news/iri-stands-in-solidarity-with-iranian-protestors/ Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn showed her support for Iranian women, tweeting: "I stand with the brave women of Iran fighting back against their oppressive government. Several Republicans expressed their support for the protesters. However, most took advantage of the development to attack the US administration and its ongoing efforts to return to the 2015 nuclear agreement with Tehran. Senator Tom Cotton told Fox News on Sunday that if "President Biden actually wanted to support the brave protesters in Iran, he would abandon his efforts to resurrect the nuclear deal that would give billions of dollars to a dictatorial regime with leaders who still chant, ‘death to America’ https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/3897481/us-supports-iran-protests-lawmakers-condemn-biden-lack-action Democrats Are Dropping the Ball on Iran Why is Tom Cotton the loudest member of Congress speaking about human rights abuses in Iran right now? https://newrepublic.com/article/167835/iran-protests-mahsa-amini-democrats-drop-ball
