Max Fischer Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Looks like Shakir missed the block because he didn't know where he was supposed to line up and then he missed the snap count. Doubtful Davis would have made the same mistake. Quote

Gabe looked great in his rookie preseason too, but there is a ton to learn before McD and co. can count on you for significant snaps. Davis put up almost 600 yards as a rookie and led the team in TD catches with 7. Are you sure you aren't thinking of someone else? 1 Quote

It takes time to ramp up. His ascension, like Gabe's, should ve very gradual, if it happens. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shakir get more consistent playing time after mid-season. Quote

Oh yeah, for sure...Shakir kinda has the best of both worlds tho...he gets to come along slowly on a team that is already stacked with talent and learn from Diggs, Davis, Crowder and McKenzie on how to be a pro and learn all of the nuances of playing WR in the NFL. Your earlier statement seemed bizarre, but with clarification makes perfect sense. Very much agreed that he's likely to get much more time as the year moves around. I think after mid-season makes sense. That's the way it tends to go under McDermott for rookies, with occasional exceptions. Quote
