I don’t believe he’s considered defenseless because The ball was never played

 

It was two football players running to a spot where they thought the ball would be… Never got there and they collided

 

Now if hit him before the ball got there and it could’ve been catchable yeah that’s a penalty… If the dude was in the air with the ball in his hand and hyde hit his head yeah that’s defenseless

 

The wide receiver didn’t play the ball so he’s not considered defenseless
