He declined severely, he has taken a toll over the middle, he's 33 years old... that's what happens. I like Beasley but he's just declined to far, he's too slow. Time will tell. Beasley is still tough as nails and surgical in how he can find the gaps in zone coverage. There are two perspectives: 1) Beasley was hampered by rib injuries and perhaps by continued recovery from his broken leg (it didn't need surgery, but could still have slowed him), those are the reason for his decline in 1st downs and Y/R. If he's healthy, he's still Got It 2) Beasley was markedly slower last season and easier to take away. We no longer hand the "intermediate passing game" we'd had the previous year because he couldn't get there quickly enough I personally kind of wonder if Beasley will actually be a good match for Brady. I haven't been paying enough attention to Tampa Bay, but in NE Brady seemed to have a reputation for demanding surgical precision from his receivers vs "get open and catch the ball". Quote
Warcodered Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 So if we some how face them in the Super Bowl we're going to have to put Old Yeller down. 1 Quote
Toyo321 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Beasley is a gamer, he always has been. Played injured for us with damn broken bones for pete's sake. How many times did you see him make catches for us and we all knew he was playing hurt. Yeah he ran his mouth, but that still does not mean he can't play at a high level. It sucks he has to goto Tampa to play, but he still deserves a shot at playing some where. I wish him well. Edited September 20, 2022 by Toyo321 2 Quote

Imo, he was on his way to Ring of Honor status/Buffalo immortality. The Bills have GPS data on every player for every practice and game. The game data are public, the practice data are confidential. I thought it was a mistake when we cut John Brown to save money, but after he bounced around on and off 4 teams the following season, it seemed pretty likely the Bills knew what they were doing and were acting based on medical reports and data. I think the Bills were likely to move on from Beasley due to medical reports and what they saw on film and on the GPS compared to his contract even if he'd been the perfect soldier all season, and that (what has been reported and rumored and fined for) his behavior on-site refusing to follow his employer's rules was what clinched the deal. I think it's notable that Beasley has been signed to the practice squad and will have to earn his way onto the roster. I think when training camp started, he was thinking he would turn down a guaranteed contract for vet minimum, he wanted more. Now.... 1 hour ago, DaggersEOD said: Take off your anger pants buddy. Airseven Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 He should be perfect for Brady. Surprised this didn't happen earlier. Beasley is a good dude. 1 1 Quote
Pokebball Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 There was some chatter on the Titan's board last night about going and getting Beas Quote

FilthyBeast Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Perfect fit and thought all along it'd be a team like GB or Tampa that signs him. Not good news for the rest of the league giving Brady another Edleman type of player which is something that has been missing during his time with the Bucs. It's going to get real old hearing about Brady to Beasely over and over later this season. Would be another great storyline too if the Bills and Bucs meet in the SB which a lot of folks predicted before the season. Quote

MJS Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Brady is going to love him. He loves slow, scrappy, white receivers who can move the chains. Quote

I thought I read that Eddleman and Welker were both QB's in HS & College, and that's why Brady liked them so much in terms if scheme etc. I knew Edleman was. He threw a few passes for the Pats and was also their emergency QB. Edited September 20, 2022 by MJS Quote

The most marked place where Beasley's stats fell off last season were in 1st downs - from 53 to 34 with the same number of receptions. How does Brady feel about slow, scrappy white receivers who can't move the chains? Edited September 20, 2022 by Beck Water 1 Quote
Dan Darragh Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Brady is going to put him in Canton Quote

Sure, they are playoff bound, but the Eagles are looking spicy and I just don't see the overwhelming presence this season from the Bucs offense. Still a lot of season left though. Quote

Brady and Bucs will be favored vs any QB including Rodgers imo. Edited September 20, 2022 by Boatdrinks Quote
