He gets lots of rest during the game and he is not a WR they use on heavy run sets. That was Davis and Kumerow. If Davis can't go I suspect Crowder will get the majority of the increase in snaps with Shakir getting a few as well. Both are big enough to play outside and inside. Crowder only plays the slot. If Davis dresses I expect Shakir to be active and the 2 will split snaps. Depends how hurt he is. Edited September 17, 2022 by Big Blitz Quote
Playoffs? Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Man… just wanna get through this game with a win. Will take an ugly one. And then head down to Miami healthy. 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 This is the issue with the NFL eliminating the probable designation. We don't know if guys who are questionable are really questionable or if they are likely to play but have to be listed as questionable because there is no probable anymore. Dane Jackson was a full go at practice today so he is likely good to go Monday. 3 Quote
ChasBB Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 So long as the injury is not serious (e.g. player does not miss more than 1 or 2 games), the silver lining is that backups get much-needed real-game experience - which may pay big dividends down the road. 2 Quote
cwater10 Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) Hey... We once played a home playoff game missing Kelly, Thurman and Biscuit against this sorry franchise. If memory serves, they "pushed us to overtime" before Christie saved us. We should be just fine. Edited September 17, 2022 by cwater10 1 Quote

Ya Digg? Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Davis had an ankle injury last year as well right? Quote

Have there been any reports that he sprained an ankle? Where is that coming from? For all we know he has an ouchie and they just threw him on the report because he took some reps off in practice. He injured the ankle in the 2020 season and was part of a really beat up/diminished receiving corps in KC in the AFCCG..........and then the injury unexpectedly lingered for the first 3 months of 2021. Beck Water Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 1 hour ago, YoloinOhio said: So I'll just put this here. Joe Buscaglia put some time into 'reading the tea leaves' of the 2nd preseason game. What happened after Diggs went out but most starters were still in? Quote The one persistent hypothetical situation, considering the Bills like all of McKenzie, Crowder and rookie Khalil Shakir, is what would happen if one of Stefon Diggs or Davis had to miss any time? That exact situation unfolded in the first quarter. Following Diggs’ second reception of the game, a 26-yard catch from backup quarterback Case Keenum, the receiver left the game and did not return. The Bills were satisfied with Diggs’ day. But the offense had two more plays before the end of the quarter and a wholesale substitution to the second unit. The Bills were in 11 personnel on only one of those two plays, and that receiver trio consisted of Davis, McKenzie and Crowder. That’s significant because it’s our first indicator of what the Bills could do if one of Diggs or Davis has to miss time, and the earliest answer we’ve gotten was that Davis and McKenzie would play on the boundary, with Crowder as the slot receiver. Now...that was Then, This is Now. We don't know if McKenzie has let ***** go to his head and started body-catching and double-clutching balls all over practice again. But I don't expect to see Hodgins leapfrogging Shakir onto the gameday actives. I think what we're likely to see, whether or not people like it, is just what Joe wrote above, except Diggs and McKenzie on the boundary and Crowder as the slot. Quote
