His foundation is Tang Soo Do (a kind of Korean Shotokan). He began to train TSD while stationed in Korea w the USAF.

He went down to Rickson Gracie’s school in Brazil and got his ass beat.  He knew he needed to train in BJJ after that…it was humbling.
