bigfootindy Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Looking ahead, I was wondering what the Sunday night game is on week 6, when we play the Chiefs. It’s Dallas-Philly, which at this rate would be a huge stinker. According to the procedures here: https://www.nfl.com/schedules/flexible-scheduling-procedures there’s no reason it can’t be, flexing can start as early as week 5. I know Jerruh (and CBS) may fight tooth and nail against it, but you have to think the NFL would want this in primetime. Anyone else agree? 1 1 Quote
mushypeaches Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I don't see it happening - CBS would have already fought to have our game in their national 4:25 window - they're not giving it up to NBC 2 13 Quote

Kc plays the previous Monday night so two in a row for them 1 2 Quote
Buffalo03 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Nope. When it's the main game at 4:25, it doesn't get flexed Quote
Rc2catch Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I agree with the others, no way it’s moving. After the playoff game this is the number #1 game of the regular season probably for advertising. Quote
Son of a K-Gun Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I believe CBS and Fox are allowed to “protect” one game on their schedule and Bills-Chiefs was the easy pick. Was discussed a bunch at schedule release time. 2 1 Quote
billsfanmiamioh Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 No chance, probably biggest CBS game of the year. No way they let it go 2 Quote
SectionC3 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I believe CBS can protect one game a year and this is that game. It’s not getting flexed. 2 Quote
sven233 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Yeah....not happening. I believe networks can protect up to 2 games per season. While we don't know what games they are for sure, I would bet quite a bit that this game is one of those protected games. It is the biggest regular season game of the season. No way a network would voluntarily give it away to another network. 1 Quote
Taro Nimbus Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Two things. One, they don’t start flexing games until around week 13. And two, there is no chance in hell they take away the Cowboys and Eagles. Eagles are front runners in that division and the Cowboys get coverage no matter what. 1 1 Quote

I prefer it stays the same time, not interested in night games that finish at close to midnight. I like my Sunday afternoon games and hate waiting all day 1 1 Quote

Dallas is the 5th largest US metro area... Philly is number 8. Even if it was flexible, they would not flex from this game between traditional NFC East rivals who both reside in large markets. Quote
CSBill Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 It should be, but probably not--all the reason mentioned above. Which is too bad, because Josh Allen seem to always be at his best in prime time games. Quote

NFL has almost become like professional wrestling with rigged zebras and bad guys. Quote

GunnerBill Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 As has been said it is CBS's protected game. Can't be flexed. Quote

But yes, Bills/Chiefs will not be flexed to Sunday night. Quote

How soon before than want to flex starting week #2 completely screwing those who travel and need to take time off? 2 Quote
