I know everyone is, deservedly, calling out Hackett's decision making, but don't let Russ off the hook. He dropped the ball without being touched, then threw the ball behind the LOS on 3rd and 14 within 2 seconds of the snap. Choke job.

I actually am thinking that could be one of the worst coaching decisions I have ever seen. It’s like when Jauron would be ultra conservative all game, but then call a high risk play at the absolute worst and wrong time to lose the game.

Horrible play calling. You have a dynamic QB who has one of the best deep balls in the game and you call dink and dunk pass plays, screens, and runs all night. Especially bad in the red zone. Plays getting in late all game long.

 

Russ is probably overrated a bit, but that game was not called to his strengths and he looked hamstrung by his own offense all night.

Russ ended with okay stats, but in reality he stunk. Any pass down the field was basically a toss up for grabs.
