pigpen65 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 He regularly gets destroyed by backs and receivers blocking him. Put him against an Olineman every play he wouldn't last a series let alone a game Quote

He's built to play close to the LOS and rush the passer but even if he had been trained for that not all good pass rushers are good at blitzing. The op says he has looked good as a Blitzer Quote
John from Riverside Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Don’t you think we also have enough depth at an edge position We literally made Shaq Lawson inactive this past week 1 Quote

Edmunds really needs to make impact plays and this would give him more opportunities he’s looked good in my opinion when used as a blitzer up the middle Lol sure lets sit Von Miller or Groot to get Edmunds some snaps at the Edge. Oliver at DE, Knox at QB and Josh at TE to follow. 😎 Edited September 12, 2022 by freddyjj 1 Quote

Warriorspikes51 Posted September 12, 2022 Author Posted September 12, 2022 I guess I wasn’t clear. I’m talking about putting him outside of Von as a 5 man front overloaded on one side. It would only be a situational formation used a few times per game Quote
buffalo2218 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 This D line just got 7 sacks without blitzing, no need to fix what isn't broken 1 Quote

To the edge where we have DE’s who have played the position in college and now the pros. How does this help the Bills ? Bernard has potential but is undersized in the run game. Spector had a nice pre season but would be exposed in the pass game. Edmunds forced Stafford to make difficult throws or didn’t try due to his wingspan. Would we like to see him more dominant i the run game? Sure, guessing he will do better with this group of DT’s. Pass coverage he is outstanding in. Don’t get the logic🤷🏻♂️ Quote
Sharky7337 Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Have you ever watched this guy try and rush the passer ? Lol Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 24 minutes ago, Buffalo716 said: The op says he has looked good as a Blitzer Yeah I know. He's terrible as a blitzer. Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa don't look like they would have any success as blitzers either. Most impactful performance against a good opponent in the regular season in Edmunds career was probably the game at San Fran in 2020.........and that's one of the few times they've used him on the LOS. Playing off the ball is just way too much post-snap thinking for Tremaine for him to be able to make plays. Quote
Rigotz Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 37 minutes ago, Warriorspikes51 said: No I mean Edmunds could be lined up on the Edge next to Von as a 5 man front on some looks Ok… so 4 down linemen, plus Edmunds down… that’s 5 D-Linemen. I assume you would want at least two linebackers (Dodson and Milano) and two Safeties … which leaves two corners. That means you’re taking Taron Johnson off the field. So, you think our best defense is: 5 DL 2 LB: Dodson and Milano 2 CB: Elam and Jackson 2 S: Hyde and Poyer Do you see any issues with that against a team that might want to pass? Quote
Don Otreply Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 I’m gonna get in on this too, So here goes…, NO!! Go Bills!!! Quote

Edmunds has shown a remarkable inability to rush the passer. It's a complete waste of his talent, which is exclusively coverage. He takes away throwing lanes and covers TE's and RB's so much that they rarely throw his way. This is why people hate him, because he is not an MLB in the Urlacher/Kuechly mode. Quote
