Daquon Jones is also a super underrated addition. Took up multiple blockers to allow others to make plays and still managed to get a few rushes.

Von Miller is still the straw that stirred the drink yesterday. There was one play where it seemed like the whole Rams OL went to their right to contain Von on a wide rush, while every other Bills DL arrived immediately on top of Stafford. And two of their left-side OL were very slow to get up. This is looking like a smash-mouth bully DL like the Bucs rode to the title two years ago, just relentless, physical, and attacking in waves. It's really what's been missing to take the defense from one that can dominate bad teams to one that can dominate any game.

Phillips had 2 sacks and led the Bills in pressures last night. Played exactly the way I remember when he was here the first time except he looks like he is much improved versus the run.

That is the direct impact that Von Miller has, unquestionably. Miller frees up space for the other linemen to succeed and BOY did they do that!!!!!

Phillips is a great pass rushing DT. I don't know about being better than Oliver but I know one thing, I was definitely right when I said it was dumb for Beane to let him go originally.

Joe, you absolutely hate Oliver.  You created this thread because of it.

Oliver was a great last night before his ankle injury.

He was. And it took the Bills some time to adjust when he went out.

Yeah it looked like a track meet to get to the QB last night...even on some of the passes Stafford got off he got drilled a split second later...the Poyer INT was a direct result of him throwing off his back foot because AJE drilled him right after he let go of the ball and it sailed high.

Oliver just looked like a beast unleashed...very impactful in the run game too.

This DLine is scary...so deep, so good...the sky is the limit.

Last night I came away impressed the most with the size we added on defensive line.

I’m loving the defensive line. It finally looked like the line I thought we would see after all the premium picks and money we’ve devoted to that unit.

Jones, Settle, Jordan Phillips, ROU looked great..Boogie.

o, and that Miller guy is pretty good!

Jordan is a beast, never should've let him go to Arizona.

He was going to get overpaid by someone...Bills did the smart thing and get him back at a discount and allow him to pick up where he left off in the same scheme.  As impressive as Miler was last night, Phillips had 2 sacks and led the team in pressures with 6.

Yeah that phillips stunt was funny.  Everyone shifted and phillips came around the edge unblocked like a maniac.

Perhaps Settle and Jones contributed to the whole d-line containing the run more? Star wasn’t doing enough while hear, and Phillips isn’t known to be a run stopper. The whole d-line looks better and obviously Miller is a big part of that, but so are Settle, Jones, Phillips. It’s hard to give the credit to one guy, especially when the whole d-line produced last night. We need to see more over the next weeks to really begin to understand who are the true game wreckers outside of Miller. With all that being said, it’s sure nice having Phillips back!

The rb didn’t want anything to do with Phillips and just moved out of the way 😂

All of this.  Miller draws attention, but the guys inside were really getting after it.  You have to wonder if the D is really this good or the Rams line was that bad.  The Bills certainly whooped them, no doubt about that.

Why did he suck in Miami and Arizona? He has always been better than good in a Bills uni.

In my opinion:  Vance Joseph, who was his DC in Miami and Arizona, asked Phillips to be the more or less the traditional nose tackle, and that's not something Phillips is really good at nor wants to do, and it showed.

With the Bills, Phillips is asked to do what he does best and what he likes to do - pass rush.

I didn't realize Vance was his coach in both Miami and Arizona. Makes sense now. Joseph is a complete moron!!!

Phillips is a great pass rusher from DT but he's a huge liability in run defense. Oliver was one of two DTs to br top ten in the nfl in both pass rush and run stop win rates last year. The other guy was named Aaron something or other

OP pretends that this thread is about Phillips but we have all seen his posting history and we know it's not about Phillips at all
