Alphadawg7 Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 MVP bid is over without a collapse by the others. He didn’t have a great game today and added 2 more bad INTs to his total against a bad defense. Quote
Bangarang Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Too many bonehead turnovers will be his downfall in this discussions. 1 1 Quote

Can we do an even exchange with the Giants to get Hodgins back? Zero effort to come back to the football in the EZ along with the fumble and the lack of sideline awareness as the icing on the cake. He almost looks like he just doesn't care out there. Outside of Diggs, our offensive weapons are pretty blah. Probably should be considered. Think this discussion has been brewing since after the Pittsburgh game. Yeah he’s maybe not a #2. We had to have known Daboll would have interest in Hodgins and he looks good for them so far. These things happen, though we have been a bit unlucky with injuries. 1 minute ago, Bangarang said: Too many bonehead turnovers will be his downfall in this discussions. Yeah. Mahomes may have a lot of turnover worthy throws but idk if any of his picks this year look as bad as some of Josh’s did. He still has a chance to make a statement next week but we all know for him it’s about the ring. 1 Quote

Charles Romes Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 For as “bad” as Josh played this game, his arm still forced the bears into a soft shell D in a zero degrees wind storm, setting the stage for the RBs to rush for over 200 yds, 9 yards per. If that’s his bad game I’ll take it. 1 Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Too many forced throws into double covered resulting in INT's. That pretty much kills his mvp chances unless he puts up 5 tds v Cincy? 1 1 Quote

I really didn’t understand taking that scramble/throw away on 3rd and long rather than at least giving Singletary a chance to make a play. He is amazing. Likely the most valuable player to any franchise in the league. When he’s hot he’s the best player in the league. But sometimes he links these drives together with the dumbest decisions. 1 Quote
Man with No Name Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 ALlen not the mvp. he is showing himself to be more of a top 5 qb than a no.1 this year. mistakes that can't be blamed on Dorsey. What he offers is play making ability to give a chance in any situation for a long, long time. His best is better than anybody else's best. I don't know if he can ever be "the best" for a full 17 game season. Nobody I'd rather have though. I just don't think he has it in him to have that "perfect season" Maybe im wrong. Even Favre was close to it in that one regular season with Minnesota. 1 Quote

We get so mesmerized by Josh's unbelievable athleticism and Superman abilities that we forget he can make some really dumb decisions too. You can't throw a 50/50 ball to a 5-7 slot guy double covered. Josh was lucky he didn't have 3-4 pics today. 1 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Well you don't cough up the ball 18 times and win MVP most of the time. Whether or not it's fair that's a disqualifier. But for my money we're a 12-3 team with Josh and something like a 7-8 team without him so I don't really care about the awards. 1 Quote
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Josh took himself out of the MVP race this game. He'd been playing quite well recently, but he was coming from behind and he's out now. 1 1 Quote

GoBills808 Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 He may not win the trophy but he's clearly MVP 2 1 Quote
f0neguy Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 The last regular season MVP to also win the Super Bowl was Kurt Warner in the 1999 season. If Josh never wins an MVP but gets a Lombardi (1+) I’m good with that 🥳 Quote

dma0034 Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 Allen would have to have an all time great game against Cincy to get back in. Like a 7 TD game. Quote

Mynamemike Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 I remember Josh taking himself out of the MVP conversation last year as well. Didn’t seem to affect his playoff performance much at all though from what I remember. Go get that ring Joshy Quote

And then it's the Raiders in Vegas and ya never know with divisional opponents. Meanwhile the 2 are neck and neck in TDs, yards, and wins. Allen has the head to head and if Primetime Josh shows up against the Bengals for a W that'll be a huge statement. Yes Josh has several more Turnovers. The team has also dealt with a lot more adversity than Kansas City. Will Josh win it? Probably not. Can he? Sure. Hurts is almost certainly out of the race at this point having to likely sit multiple games. We all saw the drastic climb back up the odds latter last week after his performance against the Phins. Another Primetime performance next week and he'll be #2 in odds behind Mahomes and probably within striking distance. 3 hours ago, NUT said: Mahomes had similar passing stats today, but no turnovers.
