And out there without a job is Chad Pennington

You know Pennington was somewhat decent not great but decent. Helped Miami break their 6-7 year playoff drought back in 08. Guy couldn’t stay healthy if his life depended on it though.

He’s basically been benched.  They seem to think Flacco can run the offense better.  Love it.

I could be wrong but didn’t they try to trade away Wilson in a package deal  for Watson but Watson and Houston turned them down?? Idk what they saw in Wilson to think he was first round talent? All I saw was career back up at best

Starting to look like the 2nd coming of Sam Darnold. Darnold has missed 3,3,4,5 and is out 4-6 already this season.  Wilson missed 3 last year & at least 3 more this year.

When a young QB keeps getting injured, you don't know whether he's the next Phil Simms, who after some early career injuries put together a string of durable years & could be counted on as the Giants starter, or if he's the next Rob Johnson who would get continuously injured and you could never count on him.

It also messes up a team's ability to properly evaluate him whether he's the QB of the future or you need to move on.  The Jets wasted 3 years with Darnold & Carolina was dumb enough to trade for him & give him the 5th year option.

The first 4 weeks of their schedule is against the entire AFCN. Those teams are pretty good at getting after the QB. Not good for an old guy like Flacco.

Week 1 - Ravens

Week 2 - at Browns

Week 3 - Bengals

Week 4 - at Steelers

Meniscus tears can be very nasty and the damage can be permanent.  I don’t know why these are seen as minor.

Well they're not structurally significant iirc

pain is the component to manage

Hoping Flacco is just good enough for them to win 6 games.

Flacco may be bad enough that the Jets are in the running for the #1 overall pick. With the non-QB talent they've added, they could turn around quick with the right QB in the draft.

I can't see Wilson ever being an elite qb. Maybe he has a few good seasons if he stays around long enough (ie tannehill) but I don't see him being Mahomes or Allen anytime soon. What do I know though

I wonder if they call SF about a possible trade for Jimmy G. He can't be happy being the backup to Lance. He would also be better than what the Jets have on their roster.

They have a chance against the Browns.

I'm no quarterback whisperer but was anyone ever worried when the Jets picked Wilson that he would turn them around? Honestly.

I was for a very short time after his first preseason game and after i heard that blowhard Mike Greenberg go off on a rant that Zach Wilson was their best QB since Namath and was by far the best QB in that draft, so Zach's downfall is especially sweet to me.

He has a job - Director of Football for Sayre School High School.  His father was a coach for 30 years and he has picked up the mantle.  His three sons went to that school.
