Coach Tuesday Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 He’s basically been benched. They seem to think Flacco can run the offense better. Love it. 1 1 1 2 Quote

Blank Stare Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) Weren’t they just saying two days ago he still had a chance to play week 1 depending on how he responded to the workout they put him through? Maybe he didn’t do well after the workout, but seems like a pretty dramatic shift in position that he could be ready to play in a few days to now possibly being out 4+ weeks. Interesting. Flacco will probably do better regardless. So if Zach Wilson is a bust they have to go again for a high draft pick QB, love it. They have entered QB purgatory-hell. Quote

ColoradoBills Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 As bad as Zach Wilson has played the Jets fans will be calling for him after 4 weeks of Flacco. The guy showed he was done in Denver and his record with the Jets the last 2 years is 0-5. 1 Quote

Charles Romes Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Meniscus tears can be very nasty and the damage can be permanent. I don’t know why these are seen as minor. Quote
msw2112 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) Flacco is terrible at this stage of his career, but he's still better than Wilson. Yes, Wilson is injured, but this is an excuse for the coach to play the experienced veteran QB. It's like Marrone going with Kyle Orton over EJ Manuel. Coaches want to put in the guy who gives them the best chance to win, as they like to keep their jobs. Long-term successful veteran coaches (like Shanahan in SF) and first-year coaches (like Saleh last year) can get away with playing the young QB and letting him develop, but 2nd and 3rd year coaches who have not had success need wins to keep their jobs. I should add that if playing guys like Joe Flacco (at this stage of his career) or Kyle Orton (where he was with the Bills) is your best option, the team is going nowhwere. billsfan89 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 I feel bad for the Jets here, not getting to see your young QB due to injury is a bad fate. Quote
Warcodered Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Have not been paying much attention thought he was probably out week 1 and then there was some hope he might be able to play how'd that go to being out 4 weeks? Quote

Arm on last year's Flacco was Flaccid. Jets better hope WIlson is ready by week 5 else Flacco's arm wont hold up beyond that. Expect Jets to go run-heavy in the first quarter of the season Quote
