How does that make sense?  Knox contract was up this year, Gabe still has another year on his contract. 

 

If anything, this is more likely a Knox vs. Edmunds discussion.

The decision on Gabe Davis does not need to be made until it's deadline of March 2024.

Knox decision was needed a year earlier.

Great job Beane.  Knox is a budding superstar and they got him extended at a fair price.

Now just let the Edmunds situation play itself out. If he plays better then tag and extend him next off season. If not let him walk, get the comp pick, draft his replacement,  and use the money to keep Oliver.

My guess? Within two years he is recognised as the best tight end in football.
