I put Digs and Cupp on that same high tier with Hill. All 3 are different players. but to argue one is better than another... well... there are arguments for and against each side of this and to be honest OP? i think this is a dumb statement to make.  Diggs will always be My #1. I am bias but I am also a realist.

get real.

You get a trophy from me, Hamma, because of your enthusiasm and confidence.

GO BILLS!!!

Thank you kind sir. But I would also like to remind you Diggs has had 4 1,000 yard seasons in a row. Kupp has zero 1,000 yard seasons in a row and has only had one other 1,000 yard season in his career. With Robinson there, he will be targeted much less. Go Bills!!!

YOU are under the misguided assumption that I DON'T go back and check stats!  Let me assure you I do!  😜

...Diggs IS so freaking, awesome.  I was reminded by looking through his numbers.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

EDIT:  @extrahammer Diggs will get to 1,000 receptions as a Bill.

It is a Shanahan offense that operates a hybrid west coast offense off of the stretch zone run game and accentuates "slot" receivers and generates production from them outside by using them by running lots of horizontal routes in the short passing game and providing opportunities for significant YAC. He is absolutely the perfect player for that role. But he very rarely runs downfield routes on the outside. His deep routes are most commonly post routes from the slot. I am not trying to knock him for that. When you have someone as good as Kupp at what he does why would you ask him to do the stuff he does less well? It wouldn't make sense. That is why they went and got OBJ and then Allen Robinson to give them more of a vertical threat outside. I don't think the scheme makes the player. But I do think the scheme and player are an absolute perfect marriage.

I think he would have the same or similar yardage in Buffalo, where they aren't sending a lot of guys on fly routes.   Diggs isn't a big YAC or YPC guy either.  Kupp catches everything and is great route runner.  Sure Shanahan gave him nearly 200 targets.  Any team with a solid QB would use him this way--especially with you only have 1 other threat out there (first Woods, then OBJ), maybe 2 (Jefferson).  Kupp was 2nd in yards before reception to Jefferson, ahead of woods and OBJ). He did lead the WR in YAC by a small margin.  It does seem that the addition of Stafford changed the way Kupp was used.  He got a lot more targets, despite the Rams having similar number of pass attempts the year before with Goff.   May also have been a function of Woods being out.

He's fast with great hands.

He won't have 1900 yards in a season again. Diggs is better.

Better than the guy who replaced in Minny?

I disagree with that. In San Fran with a decent QB, sure. In Green Bay, definitely. But he is a WCO guy. An exceptional one, but to put up those sort of numbers he needs to be in a WCO. He'd still be good in Buffalo, because he is a great route runner, has decent speed and good hands. But in LA it is the perfect talent and scheme marriage and that is how you get the maximum out of him.

So neither is exclusive. Diggs is about 80/20 an outside receiver. Kupp is about 65/35 a slot receiver. Neither are quite "exclusive". But your general point is a good one that they are really not asked to do much of the same stuff.

False... 35% of the time, every time he has to do what Diggs does.

If we had Kupp and Diggs Allen would give more targets to Kupp as he should. Kupp catches that ball against TB when they were cheating...

Kupp in there.  Evans out.

Yes at number 1

Well, Diggs is certainly faster.  Kupp is a bit taller.  Other than those two metrics, I don't know how you'd compare other traits to come up an assessment that one is better than the other.
