JerseyBills Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Not until the commercial before kickoff. Im calm before that but A switch goes off between adrenaline and anxiety. Love it Quote

I often have night before dreams on the eve of a big game for both. But then on a game day with Arsenal I almost don't want the game to get here. I want to push it off into the future. With the Bills it is the opposite I want the game here asap. That is why I like the early Sunday games. Anything later I am like "get the game here now". Interesting dichotomy. Is it because you enjoy the lead up to the Arsenal game (with everything that entails) and want to relish in that? And don’t enjoy the NFL talking heads hyping a Bills game so you’d rather get to it quick? Quote

What I do know is the days Arsenal play at 4.30pm and the Bills at 6pm (like next week) are ***** awful. Quote
Shaw66 Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 It's gotten worse as I've gotten older. Now, I can feel it starting the day before the game, except sometimes, like today, it's two days before. Day of the game, it just builds and builds to game time. I'm all fidgety, trying to get prepared. Quote
stinky finger Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 I've had "anxiety" most of this week. The closer we get, the more guarded in my confidence. Right or wrong, I've been conditioned. Go Bills!! Quote
Bills!Win! Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 It’s odd, whenever I have a tough week or I feel nervous about the game, the bills don’t do so well. When I’m calm and understand that things are not in my control they seem to play better. Quote
wppete Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 The late games are always tough. Have the whole day waiting for the kickoff. I like 1pm games. Quote
Scott7975 Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 (edited) Last couple years that hasn't happened until the day of Bengals or KC playoff games. This team is just so good with Allen that I have had confidence in winning every game. I didn't even lose confidence in the playoff games it was more so a combination of knowing those teams were just as good and knowing it's single elimination where the ball bounces funny so you need luck too. I think it kicked in maybe an hour before the games. Edited September 9, 2023 by Scott7975 Quote
Bubba Gump Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 I usually know it's arrived when I ***** my pants the first time that week. Quote

Royale with Cheese Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 Starting to get it now. I heard this and I just kinda got the jolt. 1 Quote
without a drought Posted September 5 Posted September 5 This year it is more of a curiosity than excitement. And any anxiety and such pretty much left a few years into the drought and has never returned. Quote
Gregg Posted September 5 Posted September 5 For me the anxiety kicks in when it gets to crunch time. Late 3rd quarter going into the 4th quarter and it's a close game. First half not so much unless the Bills fall behind by two or more scores. For a 1:00 game the time between 3:00 and 4:00 is nervous time unless the Bills are winning big. Quote
JP51 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 1st game.... Excitement for weeks.... Game 2 thru rest of season... Depends on win or loss.... Win... Monday morning it starts.... Loss.... pissed off till at least Weds... then Thursday it starts... (unless its a Thursday night game then I go on a compressed schedule LOL). Quote
SirAndrew Posted September 5 Posted September 5 No, as I’ve gotten older, I just don’t have an emotional attachment to these type of things. I still like watching Bills football, and the wins feel good, but it doesn’t impact my mood in any way. 1 Quote

I watched a couple of the hype videos, watched the GMFB and other sports shows....I'm feeling it now. For the regular season games that aren't "big games"...I don't get it until like an hour before the game. Big games like this, playoff games or prime time games....I start getting getting them the morning of. This one, probably because of the hype...2 days before. I'm doing the bare minimum at work today. Just enough not to get noticed that I'm doing nothing. Never. It's football. Entertainment produced for our enjoyment. It's only a game, folks, and it's not going to effect your lives if you don't let it. Quote
