Most athletically talented?

1.  OJ

2.  Bruce

3.  Cookie

4.  Thurman

5.  Allen

Yep, OJ is a disgusting human being, but probably one of the top 3 best RB’s of all time based on the rules back in the 70’s.  The whole defense knew he 2as going to get the ball early and often and he still beat the pants off a lot of guys.

Cookie is before my time, but my dad raved about his skills.  I want to say Allen and will in a few years.  I firmly believe he will be the best Bill of all time when he finally retires.

I saw Cookie Play, turned pro in Canada out of high school, after Paul Brown cost him his college eligibility, Played both ways in Canada (MLB on D) and actually was the Bills kicker in '62.  A man among boys at the time, same size as the defensive lineman.

Thurman Thomas was an absolute beast.

I loved watching Thurman.  A very smart and instinctual player.  A three down back.  If only he had OJs breakaway speed.

IMO, the top 3 has to be OJ Simpson, Bruce Smith, and Josh Allen, in whatever order you choose.

Although he hasn’t officially played a game with the Bills yet, Von Miller has to be pretty high on that list as well.

Pretty cool to think that the Bills might have two of the most talented players in franchise history playing at the same time!!

What at are your thoughts?

How would you rank them, and who else would you put in your Top 5??

Josh Allen Josh Allen Josh Allen

For those of you hesitant to put Allen on there, “because it’s too early” you are missing the question. The question is “the most physically gifted Bills ever.” Josh Allen, may be, the most physically gifted person to ever play the most important position in the game. He’s inarguably on the list.

If the question was, “who are the 5 greatest Bills ever” I’m fine with no Allen. I see a lot of Thurman on here and I think people are using those 2 questions interchangeably. I love Thurman. He is one of the 5 greatest Bills ever. He’s not one of the 5 most physically gifted.

Lynch will still make the Hall but if drafted into a better situation would have been known as an all time great. He had it all, including the softest hands which were underutilized throughout his career.

If you want to define talent as pure athletic potential, Mario Williams has to be on that list.

These are a couple of interesting nominations. Nate Clements is another that is interesting to me. Takeo Spikes as well.

I am pretty sure people were misspelling words too

I think you nailed the top 3.  I don’t think there’s a debate that those guys are on top.

the question is, who’s next on the list.

Jason Peters?

That’s another GREAT one. He’s a HOF OT that entered the league as an enormous TE.

Andre Reed and Eric Moulds belong in the conversation as great all time Bills and great natural talents.

Moulds in particular should get more attention in this thread.  I wouldn't put him ahead of Bruce or Allen, but I thought he was more physically talented than Reed and I would pay good money to see what he would have been like in this offense with modern NFL rules.

Again, based on pure physical potential, can't forget Spencer:
