Pine Barrens Mafia Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Moosehead!! 335991 Ack. Molson is the only Canook beer worth the time. And Molson Canadian at that.
Pete Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Canadian beer always tastes skunked to me and Moosehead is the skunkiest. Say no to skunked beer!
SF Bills Fan Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Canadian beer always tastes skunked to me and Moosehead is the skunkiest. Say no to skunked beer! 336023 I love Canadian beer too. When I am back in Buffalo, I would think of drinking nothing else but a Labatt Blue. They paractically give it away at the bars. But here in San Frnacisco, it is usually skunked. But the Mexican beers are fresh.
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted May 13, 2005 Author Posted May 13, 2005 beer ONLY gets skunked when it is bottled in light colored glass. it is the sunlight that skunks it. if sun hit the bottle - it is skunked. the canadian beers are always bottled in green glass = skunk often is light hits them. can we get further research on this?

Beer also gets skunked when it is temperture abused. If a beer is warmed then cooled it will skunk

I'ver spent years and countless dollars to arrive at that somewhat unscientific conclusion. I think I concur with whatever it is you said there.
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted May 13, 2005 Author Posted May 13, 2005 don't quote me on this, but what you have said, is wrong. skunking does not happen because of temperature changes. that is an old wives tale... research it um no. Beer also gets skunked when it is temperture abused. If a beer is warmed then cooled it will skunk 336040
dpbillsfan Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Man, I'm almost embarrased to say I drink Coors Light. I've never even heard of most of these beers. I guess I need to get out more often.

I use to love Molson Export Ale in the 70's, now it aways seems skunky to me.

I recall Heinekens fro ma bottle always seemed skunky, they have improved over the years.
Greybeard Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 History of Carlings which runs through several other brewers. Follow the link to a very good read. In the mid 60's Black Label was one of the most popular beers in WNY.
Mark Long Beach Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Samuel Adams - Scotch Ale (sadly not a regular brew anymore)
Reuben Gant Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I tend to drink Molson Canadian. Labatt Blue Light after meals. But by far the best marketing campaign was for Shaeffer Beer. Sing Everyone: "Shaeffer is the beer to have, if your having more than one."
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 indeed, beer in a can NEVER gets skunked. neither does beer in a dark glass bottle. do we have any scientist on the board with glasses as thick as bullet proof glass who can figure this out for us?
BADOLBILZ Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Genny Cream Ale 335556 Flying Bison. The pale stuff. Usually drink Blue or Blue light though.
