JohnBonhamRocks Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 I knew Kern only wasn’t signing here because he was being held hostage by his former employer 1 Quote
Turbo44 Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 would hope theyd at least put him on PS and give him a little $$ 1 Quote

You are a vested veteran- stay around and maybe we can find a spot for you.  Not at all. Matt is a smart guy. He could read the tea leaves and know, when the Bills signed him after signing Keenum, he was coming back here to be the PS QB.  It would be analogous to the Bills telling Barkley, "We won't offer you any job, including a spot on our practice squad. But please turn down any job offers you may receive in favor of sitting in your living room waiting for us to call" 1 Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 "We fired you so we could replace you with someone younger and cheaper, but please don't accept any other job offers in case we made the wrong decision" 1 Quote

Some really stupid people out there these days.  I don't think "stupid" is the operative word here.  Kern has had a 15 year NFL career with $28M career earnings. He's been living in Tennessee for 13 years. He's got kids, maybe they're playing sports and trying out for the school play.  When you've got "enough" money, whatever that means to you, you have the luxury of deciding whether to take a job that uproots your family or isolates you from them for 5-6 months, or deciding to sit on your investments. Apparently Kern has decided that whatever investments and side businesses he has are "enough" Edited August 31, 2022 by Beck Water 1 Quote
Captain Caveman Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Did he actually say the Bills offered to bring him in and he said no, or just that he's not signing here. Based on the other punter already being in town today I'd guess Kern maybe wasn't their first choice. Quote

Buffalo716 Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 The bills tell every player they cut that they like to stay in shape and be ready for a phone call   Quote

BillsfaninSB Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Can we just do a do-over of the 2022 draft from the 6th round and on?  I’m not asking for much. Quote
HOUSE Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 I am not buying this story at all... That would show little conference in their new punter and no team would do that.  1 Quote
Rampage Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Why wouldn’t it be legal? He’s not forced to sign with anyone. They prefer living in Nashville over Buffalo, really is that simple. Quote

frostbitmic Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 I think his father said that he'd rather retire than move his family. So it's Tennessee or the couch. Quote
