Further evidence re: State of OL play in the NFL

 

For all the hand wringing here, at least we're not in a position to where we need to claim Luke Tenuta or Tanner Owen.

Minnesota cuts Kellen Mond, picked by the Browns….interesting

As expected the depth WR and depth RB were not claimed because those positions have plenty of depth throughout the league. OL, DL, and DB are the positions most teams are looking for. Yet every year this board goes through the same panic routine over some depth skill player.

Hodgins unclaimed - somewhat surprising?

Houston only has 4 WRs!

Not shocked by tenuta at all. He got better with each preseason game and flashed nice in pass pro

The Marshal doesn't surprise me at all, he's a damn good DB.  Judy is a shocker, he didn't look good at all, but OL is at a premium.  Even more shocked that Frank Reich is the one doing the dumpster diving.  Weird.

He was the first pick in the third round only a year ago and I don’t think he’s played a regular season snap….

Not at all. He can't separate and he isn't strong enough to play special teams. He's a classic training camp star who occasionally makes a great catch but can't consistently get open at real game speed.

The most amazing thing: 7 players were claimed from the Jets, including ex-Bill Wildgoose by Washington.

Actually the GM for Colts is one doing it but Frank Reich is probably on board.
