ChicagoRic Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 (edited) Hoping to see more from him. Wondering if he's the kind of guy who needs touches to get into a rhythm. Edited August 31, 2022 by ChicagoRic Quote
ehfeuh57 Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Sure were! Cook will be starter by week 5 1 Quote
RiotAct Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 that’s a weird way to spell “Secret Weapon”, OP. Quote
Bob in STL Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Hiding Cook’s skill set? For what? He got his reps and he looks like a rookie with some promise. 3 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 For starters, he was their 2nd round pick lol. One of the last picks in the 2nd round 1 Quote
Stank_Nasty Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Well 2 days ago on nfl network mike giardi said staff was raving about him the whole time he had been there. Add that to the fact that we didn’t see a whole lot of him in games and I would guess they’ve got some planned hidden gems with his name on it coming up. Quote

Maybe it's the running style that throws me off. Not really seeing the speed, but "glide" runners in the mold of Chris Warren from back in the day don't really show it. Quote
Don Otreply Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Is this the same guy who’s afraid we will miss Beasley Hughes, and that other guy? Somebody here needs a forced time out…, 2 1 Quote
NickelCity Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 I actually think to some extent they were. Quote

He played in every game, they gave him the ball….did you want him to get 15-20 touches each game? Do you think they told him to “not run as fast as you can”? What exactly were you looking for? Quote

What I'd love to see is Cook juke some guy out of his shorts and get out into the open field. Quote

MPT Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Every team knows his skill set from draft scouting and he's protected from waivers on the 53 so there's no reason to hide him. If anything, they would be hiding the scheme or specific plays that utilize his talents. Quote
HappyDays Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Yes, the usage he got in preseason is the same kind of usage we give to Singletary. In real games he will have a defined pass catching role that we haven't seen yet. If DCs think they can beat us like they did last year dropping everybody into deep zones, James Cook will exploit them. 1 Quote
