I’ve talked a lot about many trades. None of them happened. I suspect this to be the case on this one as well. Jordan Poyer is an invaluable member of the 2023 Super Bowl champion Buffalo Bills.

I think Sal was right about the special teams aspect.  They had him play a lot of snaps at ST in the Panthers game.  They wanted to see if he could do it.

Sal mentioned when he watched him, he wasn't strong enough and was just getting pushed around.  If you're going to be our 5th option at WR, you need to be able to play ST.

You say that if the FO addressed the OL differently last offseason than we would’ve been the #1 seed.  If we would’ve addressed the OL differently, we would’ve had to use resources we used in other areas to address it, which may have set us back in other areas and caused us to lose different games in different ways.  
 

if the weather was good in pats vs bills game 1 last season, we would’ve been #1 seed.  
 

I think multiple teams are capable of winning the SB in most years based on what their FO did in the offseason.  Some teams aren’t capable based on what their FO did.  Last year, we were capable (as were other teams imo).

But our season wouldn’t have ended if we would’ve won the coin flip…. There was a difference between how Josh allen was playing in the 2nd half of the divisional rd vs how Mahomes was playing in the 2nd half vs in the AFCCG.  They weren’t going to stop us, just like we weren’t going to stop KC.  
 

There are several reasons why teams win and lose each game.  I believe that if we win the coin flip, which is luck, we win the SB.  Jmo

I agree most of it last year was on oline not on weapons. I am less convinced than you that they have "solved" the issues up there but it should be better to some extent. 

 

The point on WR depth is last year I thought we had 3 good players for 2 spots outside and 2 good players for 1 spot inside. This year I feel really good about the slot depth.... I am not sold at all we have depth outside. 

 

I also just disagree with you on Daboll. 

wasted money on the Jax game last year but everyone has a bad (very bad, not good, horrible) day.  Don't expect them to win every game this year.  but that was discouraging even for a fan that lived thru the 70's.  get the best players with the best chemistry and ensure they perform.  Get the best you can trading dead wood.. i think our coaches will/have .  national TV multiple weeks demands it.  we're good.

What….not who genius.  In case you forgot we play at home, in Orchard Park, and the weather is more often unfavorable than favorable for throwing the football.  🤦🏻‍♂️

I know this team loves Kumerow and Sweeney in the locker room but both of those guys have been around multiple years and will never truly contribute much. Kimerow isn’t some elite ST player and Sweeney was abominable last year. Move on already.

I'm only half listening but they were mentioning the strong preseason play of Jaquan Johnson as a factor, and that the Bills might choose to extend Johnson instead of Poyer.  Mostly just talking outta their butts I'm thinking.

 

Also for anyone else that listens to WGR online, who can't wait for September 25 when we don't have to hear about the damn Goo Goo Dolls concert a few dozen times every commercial break??

Especially because none of those guys are subject to waivers. They could have cut them and brought them back to start while sending Hodgins to the PS until one of our starters inevitably misses some time. Wouldn't have cost them anything to keep Hodgins. Same for Blackshear for that matter.

 

The only reason I can see to cut them is to give them a chance to sign somewhere else, but I'm sorry-- this is a business and we will regret not having some quality players to call up if any injuries happen.

I hear you, but even if wr1 or 2 is out, we don't run, or need to run two outside wr formations even 50% of the snaps. With all of the tight and bunch formations we use, and the use of TE's and RB's outside in 5 wide sets I don't see it being a big issue.
