OJ Howard is such a disappointment but honestly not that surprising.

Thinking back to the day he was signed and the number of us that got excited about two tight end sets, definitely a disappointment. I’m not sure we see him in the NFL again.

I’m not sure we’ve officially cut anyone yet today, but going off reports I think I’m right in saying the below have apparently been so:

RB - Duke Johnson, Raheem Blackshear

WR - Tanner Gentry

TE - OJ Howard

OL - Alec Anderson, Luke Tenuta

DL - CJ Brewer, Brandin Bryant, Prince Emili

I’ve probably missed some so say if so!

Last year for sure… 2020 their offense was also awful in the championship game… they’ve overcompensated defensively IMO. Hopefully it won’t matter and they win the SB regardless!

They do seem to be giving Josh the Aaron Rodgers treatment with the seeming disdain for spending any high draft pick on offensive weaponry.

I mean we did trade a 1st round pick 2 years ago for Diggs and then extended him.

The Packers traded away Davante Adams.

What is a 2nd round RB?

Yes.  So, do you think all 3 of Bryant, Anderson and Blackshear make the PS?

I think Bryant has the best chances to get claimed.

Does anyone sign Duke Johnson?  I think it's a good chance.

I am thinking Blackshear may be safe there, most teams already have A RB they like and he knows the system. There is no doubt the Bills will lose players

Hodgkin is not being  seen, neither is Johnson and one of the OL you don’t have listed

True. Was more a commentary on Green Bay's draft history vis-a-vis McBeane's.

SO many DL drafted high, none producing.

Not been seen but I don’t think Hodgins has been reported as cut yet.

ETA - Same goes for Tanner Owen, I think.

I think the Bills recognize that Bradin, Eli, and Prince on the DL all are PS potential players that they will cut today.

If Bryant gets picked up - they have 2 other guys in the wings to make due.

The same goes with Blackshear and Duke Johnson.  There is a good chance 1 of the 2 is available to go onto the PS.

I will be interested to see Anderson and OL depth to the PS.  Bobby Hart and Van Rotten both have more than 4 years so like Barkley - one or both may already have a PS position lined up to get people through.

Didn't Dorsey say exactly the opposite? That he is just FB in his offense? I might have misread something.

That's all good Yolo. If he sucks I am fine with keeping better players. I just think this is a huge huge miss on Beane's part. $3M dead cap is a lot for a player without a snap for the Bills. I know nobody sees the future and I will keep assessing Beane based on his overall work but this one hurts. More than any of his moves in recent memory.

I am as disappointed as you. I liked the Howard pick up as a low risk, high reward offensive piece and I am really disappointed it has failed. In terms of passing targets for Josh it is really Sanders and Beasley out, Crowder (low ceiling vet), Shakir (5th round rookie) and Cook (2nd round rookie receiving back) in. Have they done enough? Only time will tell but it is a legit question to ask.

I'm with Gunner on this. While disappointed Howard didn't work out as planned, I thought the pick up was an excellent. Sometimes you need to take a swing, but of course all swings don't result in hits. If Beane stops taking calculated shots like this, I'll be far more concerned. I don't like the lost $$$, but in today's game that isn't a huge hit--it is very manageable.

Keeping Howard on the roster, after he didn't earn the spot, would have been a HUGE mistake, IMO.

Swing and a miss?  Yes indeed. Major mistake? Hardly, IMO.

They prioritized the offense through free agency and trades. And they also spent two 2nd round draft picks on RB's, and another on a guard.

The offense is very good and has very good players. Doesn't matter if they were drafted high or not.

They have very good starters at the skill positions, yes.

They have average to slightly above average OL at the starting positions.

They have arguably the best QB in the league that makes them all look better than they are.

The Chiefs offense absolutely was terrible in the second half against the Bengals in the AFCCG.  The Chiefs overcompensated by having their first 2 draft picks on defense and then trading Tyreek Hill.  Good moves?
