transplantbillsfan Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 I don't know if this got legs in the gameday thread, but I thought it was pretty notable what happened when Darnold injured his ankle/foot. It seemed pretty clear Sam was respected in the locker room with tons of Carolina players coming up to him to pat him on the shoulder or give him whatever reassurances they could. But there was one high profile Panther Quarterback who (at least from what I could see) never even set foot on the field after Sam's injury and one high profile Bills QB who went right up to the cart to give the dejected Darnold his get wells and condolences... 6 2 Quote

Yeah, Sam and Allen both train with Palmer and have houses near each other in Orange County, but the announcers kept slobbering over what a great close-knit QB room the Panthers have with Sam and Baker, so it looked a little ironic when Baker didn't wish Sam well but the opposing star QB did. Buffalo Boy Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 We all had growing up to do when we were that age, some more than others. Darnold seems laid back and affable….. he could use a LOT more of what Baker has for his QB chops Mayfield seems ultra competitive, he could use a healthy dose of Sam’s chill when it comes to inter personal relating. Chaos Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Is it possible Mayfield was discussing the situation with the coaches since they had to make an unexpected change at QB? 2 1 1 Quote

Yeah, he probably goes to check on Keenum or Barkley if it were them too. But let’s be real, Josh isn’t doing that if it’s PJ Walker being loaded onto the cart instead of Darnold. Quote
machine gun kelly Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 They didn’t have the game down here so I didnt see it, but wouldn’t surprise me. BM is a tool. Josh is a class act. My guess is he would do the same in the season if it were possible. Its too bad Darnold was scarred so badly from a completely dysfunctional organization in the Jets. I never thought he was worth the 3rd overall pick, but then honestly I never knew at that time how good or bad Allen would become. I sincerely hope Darnold once healed can get picked up as a backup somewhere. I was listening to Howard and Jeremy well actually Joe and Jeremy, and they were quizzing on all the backups in the league. It made our QB field look to be one of the best. He will be an upgrade in a number of clubs. Quote

Dopey Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 When the starter goes down, it makes sense for the backup to grab his helmet and go straight to his coaching staff for instructions. Curious why there is so much hate for someone you guys DON'T KNOW? Feels like he's that QB that kicked our ass for almost 2 decades. Some of you need better things in your lives to think about. Oh and Baker is way better than Darnold. 1 1 Quote

Be that as it may, both BM & TB are extremely douchy, although one more so than the other, it’s also telling that their initials stand for feces and a disease…, fitting don’t ya think…, 1 Quote

But, as crazy it might be to compare Allen to a HOFer, I believe Josh will become the better QB: better runner, better passer, better leader. 1 Quote

Baker has much more than above average arm strength People think because he’s 6 feet tall and slight of frame he can’t have a strong arm But going back to high school he’s always had a canon… Maybe not top-five in the league but definitely top 12 Baker Mayfield has the longest air completion in NFL history… Let that sink in Longest air completion in NFL history… EDIT: Baker has the longest throw in nfl history with or without completion Edited August 28, 2022 by Buffalo716 Quote
