Either way we get an upgrade on Haack and we'll be one of the least frequent punting teams in the NFL. All we end up losing from this whole fiasco is a 6th round pick. I'm skeptical that Kern has the leg power this staff prefers. He's a precision guy. We won't be punting from opponent territory often. We need a punter that can flip field position. Not sure Kern is that guy. 2 Quote

Yard average with the Lions (2013-2018): 46 yards Yard average with Broncos (2020-2021): 47.1 yards Brett Kern's average is 46 yards across his career; with the Broncos, between 2008 and 2009, he averaged 46.4 yards. So the add is somewhere between .4 and 1.1 ??? Quote

For this team, that may be the most important part of the punter position. 2 Quote

Albany,n.y. Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Martin is the guy who hurt his ankle before the Bills game & couldn't play. I don't know how well he is. Might still be hurt but not bad enough for Denver to have to keep, but we might not want a P with a bad ankle. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/broncos_punter_sam_martin_suffers_ankle_injury_during_pregame_warm_ups/s1_127_37793727 Quote
zow2 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Where’s the announcement about signing Kern? it should have been 10 minutes ago. His strength is directional punting and pinning teams inside the 10. That’s what the Bills need. Let’s face it, in Orchard Park there’s usually wind from Southwest to Northeast. Every NFL punter can boom it far with the wind and struggles against the wind. We really need a professional who can place the ball where the special teams needs it to be placed. Which Kern can do. Announce it Beane. Quote

That’s probably more important to me… I really don't know but their kickers last year both had solid seasons FWIW, Brandon McManus in Denver and Randy Bullock in Tennessee. 1 Quote
stevewin Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Haven't read this whole thread - have any punters been spotted at the airport? Quote

Let’s not mention that particular pick in relation to positive decisions made by the personnel department in a draft. Mmm, kay? 1 Quote
