Agree. I think they wait until after Tuesday to see cuts from other teams. I've read there is a close battle of two really good guys in Tennessee, and there might be a few other situations like that around the league. No need to rush on this one, a week is enough to get an experienced vet up to speed. No, not ideal, but it can work. The biggest challenge is the nuances of holding for field goals. Tommy Sweeney has been playing 50% of special team snaps. And Quintin Morris is #2 with special team snaps. OJ was playing in the 4th quarter of Carolina game. Sweeney has value because ST. His college coach called plays to exploit him. Slow and small? Maybe he will suddenly snap into it, but I couldn’t understand that pick from day one, size of a safety, speed of a slow LB, looks like a wasted 3rd round pick, but time will tell. Quote

I cut McCloud. And now last spot is between Blackshear and Hodgins. ST is deciding factor On cut day, I would look to upgrade Bobby Hart- but there is such a shortage of OL, I highly doubt that is possible. Going forward, next draft I prioritize OL. Lets get Josh the best OL in NFL! Quote

CNYfan Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 At TE I like Knox, Morris and Gilliam. If Sweeney is a special teams darling, then I would be overruled. 1 Quote

For as much as the coaches love Sweeney, they sat him last year after his terrible drop in the Carolina game (I believe). Sweeney is a dime a dozen guy, we have enough leaders and good guys in the locker room. 1 1 Quote

Warriorspikes51 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) Didn’t anyone notice that OJ Howard often lined up outwide and looked fast running routes? He is a big target for the red zone. I would not cut him. Knox Howard Morris Sweeney can be traded to NYG for a 7th or be PS Edited August 27, 2022 by Warriorspikes51 1 Quote
