Overall, a reasonable summary.  I think rolled into 2) is "He's telling a sexual partner to get tested for chlamydia because he's tested positive?  Whether or not rape or statutory rape happened, he's a skeevy turd of a human being, Eeeeewwww, Get Him Away!"

He was a star football player at college.  Chlamydia is like a sexually transmitted cold.

yes there are degrees to things. do you think him getting oral from a girl misrepresenting herself as 18, willingly, is the same as a violent forceful gang rape.

hes not my matt, no. but i also dont want my team to be siding with a scumbag and i dont think theyd do it unless they had the utmost confidence there was no malice.

bills had an easy out in cutting araiza for haack for atleast 6 weeks... a few days back they cut haack and kept the rookie around. i dont think they believe he did anything wrong or they wouldve seperated themselves.

i dont want my team enabling a scumbag. yes i hope this isnt true, and the hookup was mutual, and that the gang rape was a seperate unrelated incident.

dont we all want some variable of that?

they’ve only sided with him up to this point. Yes, the team claims they did an investigation. Who knows how thorough it was? Was it Browns-level thorough, where they didn’t interview a single victim? NFL teams have tons of financial resources to conduct these things, but little to no power to convince or compel people to talk to them. Who knows how they landed after this private investigation. Now that this is public, the optics are entirely different. The fact that they stuck with him up to today means little.

The lawsuit says the girl "thinks" she "might" have been given a spiked drink. That is the most tenuous claim made in the lawsuit. Women unknowingly ingesting date rape drugs is much less common than the public perception. Much more common is men or women drinking more alcohol than they realize, or drinking on an empty stomach, and blacking out as a result. I'm inclined to believe her when she says non-consensual sexual activity occurred in that bedroom, but I would be very surprised if a date rape drug was involved.

I agree that it's a tenuous claim, but the wording in the lawsuit is more positive than "thinks" and "might":

Quote

Early on in the evening, Doe became separated from her friends and was approached by Araiza, who could observe that Doe was
heavily intoxicated. He handed her a drink anyway. Doe did not see Araiza pour her drink, but she accepted the drink and began consuming it. Upon information and belief, this drink not only contained alcohol, but other intoxicating substances.

Do you understand that the woman's claim is that she was gang-raped for 1.5 hrs by multiple men?

Do you understand that you are claiming to "not take sides" while actually taking a side when you refer to the woman's claim that she was gang-raped by multiple men as "woman then has sex with other men the same night after him"?

"Not taking sides" would be to say these are the allegations, no criminal charges have been filed, we don't know all the evidence.

From the lawsuit:

PS she does not claim that she was "unconscious" whilst outside with Araiza, but that she was already intoxicated and given another drink, which she consumed

Do you understand what it means to get all of the facts first?  If anyone is "taking sides" it's you.  You are white knighting.  If Araiza did the crime he should be punished.  Do you understand that I, nor anyone else in this thread thinks otherwise?  Do you also understand that just because someone claimed something that might not be true is an injustice?

As for the bolded part, none of us know this.  If it is true and she was "conscious" while  being with Araiza you're claiming that it wasn't consensual based off of her alcohol intake.  What was her BAC?  Do we need to go that far?  It was a college party.  If she was raped or "gang raped", all of those men should be in jail for life.

Sorry, bud, but you are making assumptions and jumping to conclusions and trying to be righteous about something where you don't have all of the facts.  Not sure why some people here have a problem with others wanting the facts.  On the speculation that has come out, most of us want facts.  You are the one taking sides even though you don't see that.

That's what the Browns did with Watson.

Stop. The Watson situation played out over 18 months with two dozen accusers stepping forward. The Araiza situation hasn't even made it to 18 hours yet.

Did I miss Araiza's fully guaranteed 250 million dollar contract? What if the Bills cut Araiza at 8am? You are being a goofball

That's clearly not the point. Watson's not in jail, and he's not going to jail. The law is ***** for this kind of stuff. The point is that a lack of a conviction, or even a lack of charges being pressed doesn't mean innocence. What we already know is that the guy admitted on tape to having oral with a drunk minor. *****, that's enough. Cut him. After he's off the team and the stink of scumbag trash is out of the locker room is when the rest of the case can play out in court

I don’t think anyone here really cares about the talent level.  As you state, he’s a punter.. we can just get a different one.

Its basically a debate, hours after this dropped, between three factions of fans:

1) He did it. He’s a monster.  Cut him and fire the legal department.

2) He’s a punter.  Just cut him. This sucks.

3) Don’t cut him until you do your due diligence.  This sounds pretty murky. Players may side-eye the org for cutting bait so quickly.

At this point, you should probably be at 2/3. I’m probably at 2.  The details in complaint seem a bit murky and just because it is written down by an attorney who seems (from his tweets) a bit on the dramatic side, definitely does not make it fact. Who knows what recording said or what happened at house.  Obviously and I think most people on board would agree, if he did it he needs to pay a big price, criminally and civilly, but too early to tell. Can already tell though that these scummy “Hollywood” attorneys will eat this crap up.  As far as Bills, it’s a distraction and he’s a punter.  Move on sooner than later .  Go Bills.

Are you saying if it were Josh Allen, we should roll with this dark cloud?

yes. Allen’s earned every ounce of credibility from the team and the community.  And in terms of value he plays the complete opposite position of punter.

hypothetically, you want to say the exact same accusation come out against Allen my reaction would be to probably want to suspend him with pay while the civil or criminal case plays out.

with a punter there is nothing to consider. You just move on and get another one.

That's incorrect. The team has known for a month at an absolute minimum

Ok but again, if the girl was 16 or 17, she should make it known to him. How common is it for college students to only be 16 years old?

I dunno 🤷‍♂️.  I have the impression that it's not uncommon in college towns with a big party culture, for high school girls to crash them.

It's 7 months old. And the Bills learned about it from the attorney of the young woman, not from Araiza.

He hired a criminal defense attorney, but didn't let the Bills know that he was under investigation and facing a civil suit?

I wonder how many Bills players are up thinking/ texting about this at 1:30 am like all of us?

Ok. So, tell the guy you're a high schooler. Problem solved

Anyone trying to compare this is to the allegations against Watson is being disingenuous and I don't really feel the need to spell out the reasons why.

Cut him before all the facts come out?

The Bills also don't owe us anything. There is a legal matter pending, so it is prudent to be quiet, unlike the woman's lawyer.

he’s not worth the drama or the fight unfortunately. It is a no brained to cut him. More bad then good would come from keeping him on the team.

Just saying... You can discount a punter... BUT a gut who can average over 50 yards a punt is a game changer.

As a Bills fan, I gotta wait for more facts to come in and not let my emotions take over. Pat Kane is still playing.  So did Ben Roethlisberger... I was pretty hard on Kane, if more damning facts about Araiza come out, I will be hard on him too.

Bills knew about this in July and still cut Haack anyway... That bodes well, I guess.

Is it normal for a lawyer trying a rape case to be following a bunch of pornstars and OF girls on Twitter?

I think mostly everyone can agree the two lawyers involved in this so far are not exactly normal
