He already admitted to having sex with her.

Unless the physical injury details reported are just wrong, then there’s some minimal predatory stuff going on here.

The details of the mere medical exam are horrific

Where did you read about a medical exam?

No the story details her going the cops the next day. They stalled the case and I think there’s still a criminal investigation going on / but my guess if they got frustrated and went to civil courts as they dawdled

They recently sent evidence to DA, he’ll decide to charge or not.

He's an exciting player to have - but football is just a game.

If it's determined that he's guilty, he should face all & any consequences that come w/ that.  Money, fame & value to a sports franchise should have no bearing.

Not a medical exam, but what she claimed was her injuries:

From the LA Times article

The teen “stumbled out of the room bloody and crying. Her nose, bellybutton, and ear piercings had been pulled out, and she was also bleeding from her *****.”

——

Also believe there’s a statute of limitations for tort cases in Cali of a year, which makes sense why they filed civil suit now, as the incident allegedly happened in October

It was detailed in the LA Times article. She went to the police and had a rape kit done. It is very damning.

So the accusations are horrid, but it's not clear that Araiza is being accused of rape?

Quote

Matt Araiza, 22, whose powerful and precision kicking in college earned him the moniker “Punt God,” was accused of having sex with the minor outside the home and then bringing her inside to a room where she was repeatedly raped. The lawsuit, filed in San Diego County Superior Court, alleges the then-high school senior went in and out of consciousness but remembers moments as the men took turns assaulting her.

Note that while described as "a minor", the alleged victim was then 17 years old, which is above the age of consent anywhere, and what Araiza did is not being described as "rape", but as "having sex with".

I'm going to let this one play out.

Any chance of some representative quotes?  I don't subscribe to the LA Times.

Does that mean it's not true?

Just saying, whenever one of these cases pops up, you have to think both ways. Did something happen? Very well could have but if a woman goes right for civil suits instead of criminal charges. You have to think. And the timing when he is guaranteed to be on the team and making enough money?

I mean there’s enough detail/circumstantial evidence here - especially with Araiza admitting to a sexual encounter with here - that you need to suspend him until the criminal portion of this plays out.

The accusations are heinous

I get it. But we shouldn't victim blame at all. He should be suspended from the team until it plays out one way or the other.
