Too much money… however I can see them signing OBJ.

Yes.  Which is why this thread sucks.

I agree on OBJ.  He’ll miss most of the season and should come cheap.

Gives you flexibility to put Diggs in the slot… if it moves McKenzie/Crowder to the bench on a team destined for the SB that just made itself much better with the trade, what is the problem?

That being said, I can’t see this happening.

So you're moving an outside guy in Diggs who has 230 catches the last two seasons to the slot.

And then putting Golladay, on the outside who has 220 catches in his entire 5 year career?

Giants can save $13M against the cap if they traded him today. Obviously his contract is a BAD one and he had a bad year but Joe Judge and them boys made everyone look bad.

He may be the best #3 outside WR in the league though. And the Giants may have to offload him for a 7th rounder in 2028.

Not with a 72 million dollar contract. They'd have to give us a 2nd or 3rd rder to take that on lol

Nobody is trading for this guy with his contract. Nobody.

13 mill+ cap hit

13 mill+ cap hit

14 mill+ cap hit

all years w significant dead cap if cut or traded too.

With a $21 million dollar cap hit and a $31 million dollar dead cap hit....that would mean the Giants would lost $10 million?

if Giants trade him they save 13 mill this year but then have dead cap this year and next year. Over 18 mill of dead cap. Your post numbers no longer in play as we are past that date.

go to spotrack and hit the red x on far right to get idea.

post 6-1 trade =

2022 Dead Cap: $8,150,000

2023 Dead Cap: $10,200,000

2022 Cap Savings: $13,000,000

Hasn’t Goladay been kind of a disappointment for the team?

The next team to sign him shouldn’t give him a huge contract, but there’s a big difference between Matt Stafford and Daniel Jones. Golladay hasn’t impressed, but the Giants are a disaster.

Why would we take on a ridiculous contract for a player at a position of depth on our roster?

OP has him in on his fantasy team….

This is very misleading. While it is true that the Giants would save $13M in cap space this season (despite $8.15M in dead cap), they’d also have to eat another $10.2M in dead cap next season.  I have to think that it is worth $2.8M for them to see how he does with the new coaches. Even if he has a bad season, he will have another chance next year with a different QB.
