I don't think he's rosterable or worthy of a practice squad spot. RyanC883 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I like the list. I think I would cut Sweeney over Morris but that’s about it. Quote

Which id actually be ok with IF they actually let him play RB at times. If the guy is going to be a no questions asked roster guy that’s active every week, you have to at least attempt get him involved on offense a bit. If he’s active every single game day, get him on the field in pre season to play a little RB. Make sure in a pinch if guys go down, they he can play his actual position. Guys that can literally only play ST should be limited to K/P/LS. There are too few roster spots. Jones has some speed. He made the play that sunk us in Houston. The guy literally plays every game no matter what. There were plenty of times in the last 2 years where we were super thin at RB. If this guy has to be on the team, then he needs to at least be the 3rd RB and an option incase of injury or rest. I disagree. When you have a super bowl caliber team you should be making your special teams as good as it can possibly be. That means more specialist beyond just a K/P/LS. Very little benefit for the Bills to give a 6th WR or 4th string RB reps on offense. 1 Quote

MJS Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Taiwan Jones is a roster lock. Better get used to it. Interesting how the Bills sat their three best special teamers and they couldn't stop the Broncos on any return. That's not a coincidence. 1 Quote

We never know, This team is against the cap. Wouldn't be surprised if the team went with some of the younger players for STs. Something is gotta give 1 Quote

davefan66 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Have not heard much about Austin. Felt if he made this team, it was about returns. I don’t believe I’ve seen him as a returner this preseason. He was in the game very late yesterday as a WR. Don’t see him making the cut with the work others are getting at KR/PR Quote
jav Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Great list: Kumerow over Sweeney, Cam Lewis over Giles-Harris Quote

Johnson Hamlin Either Matakevich or T.Jones or maybe both will be cut and I believe it will be Matakevich because they save 2.5 mllion in cap space letting him go. Beane will be looking to save money where he can. I also believe Poyer is healthy enough to play right now and came to mutual agreement with management that he would sit out most of training camp/preseason while they work on his extension. Once Beane sees if he can save some cap space through cuts by keeping younger players he can then decide how much he money he needs to kick down the road on Poyer extension which we know he does not like doing. Not surprised to see a guy like Blackshear go on injured reserve to both keep him around and save a roster spot if they decide to keep T.Jones as gunner. The fact is Matakevich has not done any amazing things on special teams in his 2 seasons to justify his pay and roster spot. Cutting both Ford & Matakevich could happen because the Bills save just over 4 mllion in cap space. End of the day these decisions sometimes are made on which players have large amounts of dead money or provide the team cap space. This is why Crowder makes the roster because he has 1.8 mllion of dead money if they let him go. Quote
Beast Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 (edited) I can see at least one trade happening. Maybe wishful thinking but I could see a team forking over a low round pick for one or two of these guys rather than fight the rest of the league to try to get them when they are released. The Bills roster sure is stacked. Edited August 21, 2022 by Beast 1 Quote

Johnson Hamlin You’re almost spot on except Barkley and Blackshear. I know Blackshear is having a good camp and a great game yesterday. Going on previous decisions they most likely won’t keep that many RBs. I love what I see on Blackshear it’s just too likely he gets to the PS and scooped up by another team. They’ll place Barkley on the PS as I don’t see anyone taking him. Mybe if they didn’t keep Neal, but they need him as insurance with Tre. you did a nice job my Italian friend. I appreciate the effort. Unfortunately really deep teams in depth like us and the Ravens are going to cut some NFL caliber players. Weak teams like the Giants, Texans, Jags, and yeah the Jets will scoop up a lot of these guys. Quote
