No one has ever wasted a roster spot exclusively for a holder in the history of the NFL you jackwagon.

How boring it must be to go through life never trying something new.

For what purpose? Araiza has been fine on all his holds. This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard and on this board that's saying something

Hold on. It was eight short years ago when Wrecks Ryan kept a “kickoff specialist” on this team…and Ryan knows a lot more about football than you. I would argue a “holding specialist” is equally (if not more) important and worthy of a roster spot for a stacked team.

And before that Bills Head Coach Wade Phillips employed Chris Watson as a "Punt Catcher."

It's sad that the younger members of the community have such disdain for the history and knowledge that the older members possess.

A lot of our members here should read more (particularly from people like yourself) and post less.

They might learn a thing or two.

Agreed. Plus, the Bills actually had two punters and one kicker in 2015 and 2016:

Dan Carpenter (K) for field goals

Jordan Gay (P) for kick-offs

Colton Schmidt (P) for punts

In Rex's defense, he was/is an idiot.

Great defensive coordinator.  Mediocre head coach.

I smell what you're grillin'! We need a left-foot too!

How deeeep is that!

You made me think of an interesting situation.

If Bass was hurt (assuming leg injury), would he still play and hold for Ariaza?

I’ll revolt if we keep Tawain Jones over either.

Start sharpening your pitchfork. That's exactly what will happen.

Food for thought.

Our team is stacked and DEEEEP.

We didn’t even have a chance to see Punt God hold for Bass much under pressure. Aren’t we all hoping to have a guy that can hold the ball properly when the game is on the line?

Keep Bass - Obviously

Keep Araiza - 78 yd punts. Obviously.
Keep Haack - FG Holder Specialist

It’s never been done (to my knowledge) but well worth it.

Fire away.

Will never happen,  roster spots are way to valuable to keep a place holder, the Bills would prefer to keep an extra WR OR DE

Don’t forget that McDermott absolutely loves his special teams aces. Haack is 100% a holding ACE. It’s why we picked him up last year to become with. We sure don’t want to be like the Packers this past year and losing games because Bojo couldn’t hold.

Way too many young kids that think they know everything here. They don’t realize that guys like you and Fergie have been around the block for years. They’ll never understand it either. Just sad.

No holding specialist.  The 10 yard penalties will cripple the offense.

Who is going to hold the ball on tee for kickoffs when it's windy out?

The Bills score a lot, they kickoff way more than they punt and it's rather windy at highmark.

Illegal use of thread to push domed stadium agenda.  Loss of post, repeat 3rd down.

Looking back, I think there were years the Bills had designated 'Punt Droppers'. 🙁

Does 'ego' count as an injury?

By keeping Haack, not only are we assuring consistent ball placement for Bass in all kinds of weather, but the kicking room currently has great chemistry (the three of them work well together during kicking meetings). Why cut Haack when some other big bodied dufus will never see the field?

I just like up thread where you say it

could net us 24-27 points.  I don’t think bass misses 8 FG all season so that number is off. We might need that big doofus in case another doofus gets injured.  To save maybe 12-15 points on the high side (he missed 6 FG and 2 XP with Bojo as his holder and 4 FG with Haack).
