The Bills score a lot, they kickoff way more than they punt and it's rather windy at highmark. yes, need a specialist for this and then add an onside kickoff specialist. 1 Quote

We didn’t even have a chance to see Punt God hold for Bass much under pressure. Aren’t we all hoping to have a guy that can hold the ball properly when the game is on the line? Keep Bass - Obviously Keep Araiza - 78 yd punts. Obviously. Keep Haack - FG Holder Specialist It’s never been done (to my knowledge) but well worth it. Fire away. No freaking way, cut the guy ASAP Quote

Still a terrible idea I’m not suggesting we keep two punters. I’m saying we need a kicker (Bass), punter (Araiza) and Designated Holder (Haack). Continuity between Bass and Haack is worth at least 24-27 pts this season. I’ll hang up and listen. 1 hour ago, Stickybandit716 said: He held for bass on the gwfg last week, there’s really zero need for both of them So you want to depend on a rookie from San Diego to hold the ball for Bass with the AFC Championship on the line (possibly in sub zero temps at OP)? Dig deep into your mind. Think again. It’s worth 650k to have a designated holder. Quote
Mc1320 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 No one has ever wasted a roster spot exclusively for a holder in the history of the NFL you jackwagon. Quote

I seriously doubt they keep Haack as a holder. I sure liked the days when QB2 was the holder on most teams. Much better to pull off a fake to have a QB at holder. Maybe Keenan can be a back up holder? Quote

Just think of the possibilities. Allen stalls on offense inside our own 30. You send your punt crew out there. Both Haack AND Araiza are back there at the same time. Now the receiving team has to send our multiple returners at different distances about 60 yards apart because they don’t know who’s going to actually punt it. Then, all of the sudden, Punt God throws a 30 yard pass to Jake Kumerow who is streaking down the right sideline. He catches it and makes 2 moves and ends up trotting into the end zone for a TD. Big Turk Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 For what purpose? Araiza has been fine on all his holds. This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard and on this board that's saying something Quote

nikuman Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 (edited) Hold on, guys...OP may be on to something here. You know how kickers hate frozen footballs, right? In addition to holding for that kick during sub-zero temps in the AFC championship game, Haack could keep the balls warm by sticking them down his pants until they're ready for the field goal attempt. Then we're actually saving money because we get a designated holder AND ball warmer for $650k. Edited August 21, 2022 by nikuman Quote

This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard and on this board that's saying something I haven’t seen any issues with Ariza’s holds, if he was really really struggling with holding I would get the sentiment (although it is still a bad idea) but the punt god has at the very least been solid as a holder and he will probably get better considering he will only get more experienced at doing it as he gets more holding opportunities in practice and in games.
