I like Hodgins, and will root for him.  But the over excitement on him seems a bit much.  Through 2 preseason games hes averaging 9 yards per catch against scrubs.  Shakir for example has been substantially more impressive.

And like I pointed out before, the last 2 years while fielding a pass happy #1 offense in the AFC, our 5th WR (McKenzie) averaged just 25 rec for 240 yards and no one else behind him even had a hundred yards on the season.  Hodgins will not play any relevant minutes at WR and will be a total non factor if we keep him at WR.

He is a feel good story, sure.  He is very likable, sure.  But...if he cant be effective on ST's, he doesn't have a role on the team because he isn't going to see many snaps at WR unless we see a plethora of injuries at WR, in which we almost assuredly make a move to bring WR help in via trade or FA if that was the case.

Yes, you like to point this out but what you dont recognize is we played a hobbled no YAC Beasley with broken ribs over him.  We went to playoffs with Beasley with broken leg and Diggs with a torn oblique.  Need competent backups just like you need a competent backup QB.  They may not play but they can play during bad situations when something happens.  Kumerow is just another guy on the ST's unit.  He is nothing special.  So if we can keep a better backup WR over him and replace him with another jag then that's what they should do.

Don’t get over confident.  Broncos JV team played today.

I’m just basing it off of last season’s offense. There were two no punt games against the Patriots.

Except neither him or TD Jesus will contribute on the field as a WR this year regardless how makes it.  Thats the point.

Unless there’s that injury bug. I’m not advocating either take snaps from the starting core. TD Jesus seen the field on occasion last season, made some, dropped some. I’d rather have the young guy, good thing I’m not in on those decisions though!

Agree completely. I think Hodgins has to show some solid S/T ability, or whoever is our WR5/6.

I think it will be close, but would put my money on Jake being cut.

Yeah and look, not hating on Hodgins, I am rooting for Hodgins too, its a great story as well.  Just saying, if he can't cut it on ST he wont make the team, because that will be the primary role of what ever WR makes the team at that point of the depth chart.

I think our 2nd team would win 8 games. The difference in talent against a legit contender in Denver is unbelievable.  We're dominating in every aspect

Bills definitely have the edge in missed tackles 😆

I really like Blackshear. Guy just glides. He won’t make the team, but I’d love to have him on PS if he’s not scooped up.

He’s not going to make the practice squad someone will grab him

Wonder how many zero punt games the Bills will have this year on offense?

Billsiest thing ever:

  1. Spend a draft pick to get the best punter in the history of Football.
  2. Never punt again.

He might not be needed this year but if he is I have confidence he can get it done in a limited role.

Hodgins has worked his ass off the last couple years in anninimity, rehabbing injuries and studying.

He's definitely worth keeping around.

Shakir is a completely different story right now, if he stays healthy he'll be making plays on game days.

Disagree...the guys who deserve to stay are the guys who make your team better.  If his primary role is to make the team via ST and he isn't good enough at ST, then he doesn't deserve to make the team over someone who has ALSO put in all the work to be the best he can at his job.  People act like only Hodgins has worked hard.

Again, rooting for him, but he isn't entitled to anything just because he worked hard when all these guys are working hard and fighting for jobs too.

Right. That remains to be seen but the backs are talented enough.

Agreed.  Motor looked great, moss back on track and cook smooth.

Really hoping we can stash Blackshear on the PS.  His skill set can be useful if given the opportunity.  Sucks for him that our RB room is so talented.
