His description of what his job is as a HC is not even realistic. Isn’t McDaniel supposedly one of these “delicate genius” types? Some nerd who has an offensive mastermind? I don’t know, just asking…he seems, well, a bit “unusual” as an NFL head coach. The blatant over-the-top Tua praise is nonsensical. 1 Quote

FilthyBeast Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Still don't see the Jets as any real threat to the Bills compared to the Pats/Dolphins. But bears watching since they were a very scrappy team at the end of the season last year which the Bills know from the regular season finale and could seem them around .500 if everything falls into place. AFC East is definitely going to be one of the tougher divisions in football in the next few years. 1 Quote

Having been in the world of high-tech startup companies out here in CA for a long time... This guy sounds EXACTLY like an superbrain tech guy. Extremely knowledgeable about the technical aspects of what he does, but misses large chunks of what's going on around him people-wise. It really feels like he has been over-promoted to head coach. He may have the "big picture" view of running an offense, but he doesn't have the big picture view of running a team and being the face of the organization. As head coach, the job is so much more than X's and O's. I don't think he can pull it off like Belicheck because he just talks to damn much and will talk himself into trouble. Just watch his videos. I work in medicine and there are a lot of people with high IQs and low EQs. I'm dumb as a box of rocks but can talk to anyone. I sometimes think that's the better side of the equation. 1 Quote

947 Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Mims was drafted by the prior Jets regime. He's fallen behind all the WRs the new regime has acquired & was WR7 in their first preseason game. The Jets apparently told him they won't cut him, which makes no sense to me. He's obviously not been on the field much since his rookie year, but he's got to be a lot better than the 7th best WR on a bad Jets team. I really liked him in the 2020 draft. We do have a need at backup outside WR, but I'd rather he get cut & pick him up cheap than give up a late pick. Quote

Airseven Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Jets have a nice group with Davis, Moore, and Wilson. Berrios still has upside. Might as well give Mims to the Bears for a 5th. Quote

Wyobills89 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I like our chances with afc east. Thank goodness we aren't in the afc west, that's gonna be brutal this year. Mahomes, Wilson, Herbert and Carr. Give me Mac n cheese, Tua and Wilson anyday. 1 Quote
