Bruffalo Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 They should have never settled at all if they were in any way serious about this. It should be an indefinite suspension. Quote

But wasn’t he basically suspended all of last year too? whatever, it’s another really good qb not playing and that’s good for the bills. Stupid trade by the browns. No, he wanted a trade and refused to play for the Texans. He was paid and inactive. Quote

The total hit to him is definitely over $10M and probably closer to $15M. 1 Quote
sven233 Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 What a joke. This piece of trash should never play on an NFL field again. 6 2 Quote

If the Browns didn't negotiate an escape clause and/or a bonus recovery clause in the contract, they may be even dumber than most of us think. 1 Quote

Yeah, I get that but if I was him (and I’m a saint during massages), it would seem like almost 2 years for something you haven’t been found guilty of. Not defending the guy in the slightest because if he did this, he shouldn’t even be in the league. but the whole nfl suspension process makes no sense. Quote

The Jokeman Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 His return game is against Houston? You can't write a better script than that. 1 2 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Yea it’s definitely NOT coincidence his return game is the Texans game. 2 minutes ago, sven233 said: What a joke. This piece of trash should never play on an NFL field again. NFL doesn’t care. Big Ben will be in the Hall. 1 Quote

The thing with considering it "2 years" is the one year was self imposed by himself because he was throwing a hissy fit and didn't want to play for the Texans Quote
Bangarang Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 This was the league’s chance to come out looking good for once and instead they completely piss down their leg. Absolute disgrace. 1 3 Quote
Doc Brown Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 (edited) Yeah. We don't have to play him. Not everybody was going to be satisfied no matter what the punishment was. Five million seems low. Maybe both sides were in cahoots during settlement talks to draw interest for what would've been a relatively boring week 13 game. Edited August 18, 2022 by Doc Brown Quote
SectionC3 Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Way too light. And bad for business. Should have been indefinite with a hearing with respect to re-admission at the start of the next league year. Quote
Brand J Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 A lifetime ban for predatory sexual behavior of a non-violent kind? I don’t know if that’d be fair. I agree with the counseling and the suspension, though the fine could definitely be more given his salary. Quote
