Southtown Tommy Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 As someone who is close to the organization (PUNT), I can say the donations have been steady. They provide resources to those families in WNY who are battling pediatric cancer and struggling financially - it's such a great cause. Hopeful the mods won't delete my post if I give a $$ amount update sometime later today. 5 6 Quote

He bought a house in Buffalo without a long term deal. He’s one of Josh’s best friends. He’s always at the Sabres games. He has a charity that benefits WNY. I don’t know him but I feel like I do. I can’t imagine what he’s going through. It just sucks. he just seems to love the fans. love life, loves playing football. kind of like a guy (we seem to have a bunch on this team) that most would want to be like of they played in the nfl. RIP to Luke and prayers for him, Dawson and their family. 3 Quote

You only learn to put them aside and move on". I heard pft on pmt one time say, after you lose someone you love when you think about them your first reaction will be grief... but eventually that first reaction will be to smile and happy memories again, that's how you know you're starting to heal. It'll be a long time, but hope Dawson and his family can get back there 1 Quote

Tipster19 Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 C’mon Mafia, we got to get this to at least $500,000.00! $16.88 is a small contribution for a family member. I’m so proud to be a part of this fan base! Go Bills! 1 Quote

My sarcasmanotometer isn't always well calibrated but someone suggested that Dawson and his family might prefer to grieve in private and that the PUNT foundation donations might be somehow intrusive. We see Dawson reaching out to share a link to a livestream of the memorial service and suggesting this an attempt to share their collective faith with a larger community. So, sarcasm detected there. That was my first thought. For some people (not necessarily Knox) it could certainly feel overwhelming to have the burden of feeling like you have to thank fans repeatedly for their generosity while also bearing the weight of grieving for your families loss. That being said, and as Augie pointed out, it is a wonderful cause that all are donating to. Quote

I would think that he would understand that it was meant in a supportive manner and it was well intended but I could also understand if it was something of a hinderance for him. 1 Quote
Since1981 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 My mom passed last month. At first we were private, shock, then shortly later when people came out from corners of her life…To see donations…made us happy. 1 Quote
