BuffaloBill Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Cook looks like he has the opportunity to strongly contribute Shakir will make the roster and might be the steal of the draft Benford is supposedly outplaying a first round pick and if Shakir wasn’t the steal of the draft maybe he is Araiza may live up to his nickname Spector may be playing himself on to the roster Ok its only preseason but man if Elam comes around as expected the draft may look to be huge a couple of years down the road. 15 2 1 Quote

HOUSE Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 There will be a lot of teams watching Buffalo's PS. This will be grand theft....or at least shop lifting 2 3 Quote

Rubes Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Yeah but Tenuda looked pretty awful at times, so you have to admit Beane really ***** the bed on that one, proving once again he sucks at evaluating OL talent. /sarcasm 4 Quote

SCBills Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 One thing about this draft class, compared to last years… Last year our impact picks were two EDGE and a very raw, elite traits Tackle prospect. Followed by another raw, traits Tackle prospect. Two late round picks got scooped off the PS. Hamlin buried on the depth chart but people are high on him. Lots of development in the positions drafted last year. EDGE and Tackle typically aren’t just plug, play and look amazing, unless you draft Top 10 guys. This year we drafted positions that can plug, play and make an impact … CB, RB, LB, WR with a Punter. Quote

Understood but the Bills are about to be hit with the high dollars of JA’s contract and a number of other vets who will look to get paid / extended. Roster turnover and replenishment through the draft is even more critical as a result of this. Oliver, Emunds, Poyer and Knox either are or will be looking to get paid (now or) after this season. The Bills will struggle to retain all of its core players. 3 2 Quote

There is no way that you can deny that the guy had physical talent. The Bills front office has done a good job of assessing talent. They have picked well outside of RB, O-line and d-line picks (maybe) as the jury is still out on several. They also do a very good job picking players with a “want to” attitude and physical talent. I did not say in my OP that all of the picks were locks. I simply said the early view is that several will make the roster and contribute. 1 1 Quote
julian Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Imagine how much fun the negative posters would have on the Patriots boards if they believe the Bills deserve anything other than praise for their draft results. 1 Quote

OF COURSE a decent amount of them are playing late in the first preseason game. OF COURSE some of them will push some other bubble players off the roster. Every year we have 5-6 rookies make the team and have this exact post. 1 1 1 Quote

I am sorry but I thought as a group we came to the conclusion that, since all of Beane’s picks aren’t all-pros (unlike other teams that only draft all-pros), Dane is a terrible GM. I am confused by this new narrative. 2 Quote

Weird that the draft assessment you posted above doesn't include Greg Rousseau or Boogie Basham. For a point of comparison the 2016 draft was the last one not done by this regime: 1st Round Shaq Lawson 2nd Round Reggie Ragland 3rd Round Adolphus Washington 4th Round Cardale Jones 5th Round Jonathan Williams 6th Round Colby Listenbee 6th Round Kevon Seymour Do you have an opinion about how this team has drafted under the new regime?
