Can they install a pipe and divert it to Lake Mead?

That would cost a lot of coins.

No need.  Just have all the mafiosi fill their barrels with rain water after they stuff the dead bodies in...

And this happened a few weeks ago.  I thought it was a one-off.  If there are more to come...

You may have meant that as a joke, but I've often wondered why we don't have some kind of a pipeline that goes from frequently flooded areas to frequently drought-stricken areas.

I've often wondered why we try so hard to have people living in places where there aren't enough resources for people to live.

Could we build pipelines to the West, ya probably. Then we'd be continuing to encourage society to make stupid decisions with water rather than dedicating the water there is to agriculture and telling all the other millions of people they need to move somewhere else where there already is water.

Climate is changing where people should be living also. Taking water from some areas and dumping it in areas not used to it.

Today's desert is tomorrow's forest and today's giant lake is tomorrow's desert.

I understand vegas isn't accustomed to rain, but for crying out loud arent there simple building codes which require structures to be impervious to water?

Funny how people complain about inspections and the cost of labor, then complain about the quality of structure they get paying the lowest bidder for work.

We could run a pipe from all the lakes on the golf courses, and the pools surrounding them, to the lake. For that matter, maybe the irrigation systems on the fairways and greens should be aimed at the lake. It is a DESERT, people!

Yep....most of my career has been in QA/QC and everyone ***** and complains about the rules. Its a thankless job when things go right, but the second thingsgo wrong everyone asks "where's the quality control"

That is exactly what happened with TVA - power/water to areas which would never have had it in quantities which sustain current populations and could not live without air conditioning and other services people take for granted these days.

There are still people who say having water flow down St. Lawerance river to Atlantic Ocean from Great Lakes is a waste and water should be piped to areas of country which has wasted utilized all of their water.

You are a right!  The lower Mississippi in Louisiana floods.  All it does is go to the Gulf of Mexico anyway.  Why not send it to the SW.

BUT charge them... Make it so damn expensive in taxes, costs that it's not an incentive to recklessly develop.  This is what should be happening in the coastal climate change "danger zones" too. Do not tie the cost to economic output to the rest of country... Like Florida sending beef or sugar... Tie cost directly to living there per person or to tourist, income taxes, etc...

Forget where I was reading it but for the argument was that for the most part codes/inspections aren't the issue, its more the fact they never get sustained heavy rains so they have no idea the actual condition of the roofs

But some of these videos circulating show a gross neglect in my opinion

The topic of diverting water is so LA County. Los Angeles residents water their lawns 3 times daily, while Mono Lake which was a thriving tourist destination in the early 1900's is now a salt lake, much like most of the Central Valley which has had their water diverted to Los Angeles.

They'd probably have to reverse osmosis the water before they can pipe.  No way it would pass the environmental test.

Maybe some of the casinos can install water turbines to "harness" the flood waters?
