A small business owner who’s biz makes that, yes. Individuals who make under 100k, depending on where they live and if their spouse works, yes. Dems had a chance to prove this doesn’t go after them, and much like the CBO found in their study of the bill, it does - and the IRS will. Dont have to believe me.. Do the most basic amount of research of who the IRS audits.. It’s not the rich - and if this was about the rich, Dems could’ve put their money where their mouth is. They chose not to.
OrangeBills Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 This is all so dumb. 60% of Americans DON'T EVEN PAY FEDERAL INCOME TAX because the Gov't doesn't want them to. So the new IRS agents' target environment is the 40% of Americans who do....and presumably they've been hitting the Elites hard enough (prob this messaging may alter some behavior at the margin, I can see that). But the preponderance of people who are now going to be audited (i.e. hiring expensive Lawyers and Accountants) are going to have to be people who never dreamed they would be in this position. But it's also how Leftist regimes traditionally assume further control over society (the Healthcare control function being a relatively new one).

Its not like government spending is constrained by the amount of tax revenue collected so what's the fuss? As the majority of the annual federal budget is borrowed money that annually adds to a $30 trillion national debt that will never be paid back what difference does a couple billion more or less in tax revenue make? Its a power and terror objective to sick the IRS on disobedient citizens. Just wait to see who gets audited. Tax cheats? No. Troublemakers? Yes.

These audits will be based on some "Social Credit Score" of their devisement. Probably best to just go dark about now to be honest.
BillStime Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 It’s all by design… the GQP - the party of FISCAL and PERSONABLE responsibility - has been gutting the IRS for years. Notice how the pathetic cult continues to do the the dirty work for millionaires supporting billionaires? The GOP Gutted the IRS — and the Rich Made Out Like Bandits For much of the last decade, the Republican Party has branded itself as a champion of fiscal responsibility and the rule of law — while doing everything in its power to help rich people steal from the Treasury. Since taking Congress in 2011, the GOP has forced through a series of aggressive cuts to the Internal Revenue Service budget. Between 2010 and 2016, the number of individual tax returns filed in the U.S. increased by 7 percent, while IRS funding fell by 18 percent. How the IRS Was Gutted An eight-year campaign to slash the agency’s budget has left it understaffed, hamstrung and operating with archaic equipment. The result: billions less to fund the government. That’s good news for corporations and the wealthy. Trump Budget Continues Multi-Year Assault on IRS Funding Despite Mnuchin’s Call for More Resources Budget cut by 18% since 2010, and the agency has lost roughly 13,000 employees. A lesson from Trump taxes: An underfunded IRS is outmatched Revelations of President Donald Trump’s near-zero federal income tax payments have underscored the ability of wealthy individuals with high-priced lawyers to outmatch an IRS that has long been understaffed and underfunded. Are Republicans Underfunding the IRS to Help Corporations Pay Less? Since taking office in 2017, President Donald Trump has repeatedly gutted the budget of the Internal Revenue Service while enacting a landmark $1.2 trillion tax cut that largely benefited wealthy Americans and corporations. Now, a study using previously unavailable tax data has found that the treasury could have collected $34.3 billion more in taxes from large companies if it had access to $13.7 billion in resources, less than half of what it would have reaped in return.

Didn't Obama weaponize the IRS against Republicans? I showed you a video of them literally practicing raiding a lawncare business for having extra vehicles and you are still believing they will only go after billionaires.

Lois Lerner ran a political harassment operation at the IRS at the direction of Obama. The target, conservative political action groups. Threats to democracy. investigated and proven with no indictments, no time served, and no surprise. Obama and Holder get very little credit for creating and deploying most of the surveillance state tools and techniques that are employed by the government today to keep tabs on anybody that might make trouble for the establishment either with words or actions. Threats to democracy? Its just code for threats to the power and privilege of the people in charge.

Looks like it was a great response considering the GOP was dismantling that very agency. Karma is a B word
