Over the Cap positional spending

Any surprises?  I thought our DL spending would be at the very top but looks like we're in the middle of the pack?  Unless I'm reading the spreadsheet wrong.

Sort by defense.   We are 6th.

I never really know how to view these things because of the variance in how contracts are structured.  

 

Teams not paying a QB may front load contracts at certain position groups, whereas others kick the can down the road. 

 

DL spending doesn't suprise me.  We're paying Von (again, cap structuring), but Jones, Settle, Phillips and Lawson aren't exactly breaking the bank.  Everyone else is on a rookie contract.

It is missing two important things - Total spent and ST specialists.  Web version is hard to read and manipulate so I have a spreadsheet of it adding division/conference.

You can sort it by specific positions as well.  6th on defense overall but not for Edge or IDL.

Spotrac has Bills DL at 23.  Of course, next year with Von actually costing money along with Oliver on 5th year it will go up.
