Dawson Knox made a lot of plays last season the stat sheets don't lie. I wouldn't ignore @JaCrispyI'll just remind he how special Knox ended up being. Or vice verse  and then I'll take my lumps.

I remember a lot of "hope of improvement" talk but not so much proof.  Seems different this year.

It's a big season for him and he looks prepared for it.  He has to step up and he knows it.

He came in to play the slot position and had been to one training camp practice. 

 

Right now he's losing ground to mckittrick (is that still a thing?) And Shakir is getting his reps and all signs point to him doing well so far. 

 

Also has a player ever been IR'd because they are sore?  Seriously asking. 

So you didn’t look at his contract?  That would tell you why it’s an overreaction to say he’s gonna be cut.
 

I agree he losing ground to lil dirty and shakir. But he’s not getting cut unless he’s a net negative to the team.  As for players IRd for soreness see hodgins and Stephenson. It’s a thing we sorta do with WR

This is a bummer. Really was hoping it wouldn't be musical chairs this season for once. I know it's still early, but was very hopeful there'd be an established unit that had time to gel in the off season, all set & ready to go for week 1.

There were guys saying they were really impressed with aj last year. Hughes in particular thought he was ready to break out. Hopefully this is the year we need him

His contract doesn't matter.   OJ Howard is worse and haven't heard lick about him so far. 

 

Stevenson and hodgins go to PS.  Howard and Crowder don't.  That's why they keep those two around.

I'm not opposed to increased reps for the backups during the preseason.

It's really hard, in todays NFL, to have a clutch/dominant Defense - especially against elite QB's - without a reliable pass rush.  

 

Replace Hughes or Addison with Von last year and we are the reigning Super Bowl Champions.  That Defense, even without Tre, isn't getting torched by Mahomes evading pressure all day.  

Our coverage schemes and execution are extremely good but McFrazier are risk averse when it comes to scheming pressure packages and have been since they arrived. That’s my point about scheme hindering potential dominance.
