About one-third of Pelosi’s congressional district is Asian American and taking on China has long been a major part of her political identity, making her a figure particularly reviled by Beijing.

Some China hawks have seized on the tension, arguing that if Pelosi refrains from visiting Taiwan it will amount to giving Beijing a veto over U.S. foreign policy. “This pathetic self-deterrence is a mistake, and it will invite more aggression,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).

But the administration official said it’s not a question of caving to China. “This is not an issue of standing with Taiwan,” the official said. “The issue really is that there is substantial concern across the region that this will be seen by many as provocative, and will cause China to respond in potentially unpredictable ways.”

The controversy initially erupted after the Financial Times on Tuesday reported that Pelosi, as part of a broader tour of Asia, was planning a trip to Taiwan, prompting Beijing to react with fury and urge Washington to halt the trip. “If the U.S. insists on going its own way, China will take firm and forceful measures to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” spokesman Zhao Lijian told reporters in Beijing. “The U.S. must bear all the consequence of the visit.”

So why would Pelosi use any type of common sense now she has been a indignant ass for years & she is now in her second term of being the same person so for her to do something this stupid IMHO is just par for the course stupid is as stupid does !!

I'm just not sure that she will have enough money to buy us all out of the ramifications if she does go through with it but it still won't bother her sitting on top of all of her insider trading money's in her huge mansion & eating her ice cream stored in her $2k refrigerator .

She is a piece of work . Not to mention all the fossil fuel she will be using to get to & fro !! OMG nancy what are you thinking !!

Of course she should go. Xi is neck deep in a ***** pile of his own making. Whats he gonna do?

The Chinese force down Nancy's plane and take her prisoner.  Creating an international incident.  White House aides need to decide if they should wake up President Biden or the other guy that's doing the job of President with the news.

Next the Democrats figure they can say Xi is helping Trump by inhibiting the 1/6 committee investigation.  More foreign interference in our democracy.  Meanwhile, "Mr Pelosi" says thank you to Xi for the vacation from the old douche bag!  And offers the Chinese leader some insider tips on some stocks that will rise on upcoming news events and government contracts and deals.

It's well worth it to give China the middle finger.

At least trying to send China a message to let Taiwan remain a independent country.

Ok. But... we had No One Better to send than the old bag? This is just impulsive if you asked me.

.

China has been eating our lunch for decades, here, in this country.  We have a president alleged to have ties to China though his dopey son, a person who would be very easily co-opted by a foreign adversary based on just about every waking moment of his hooker-stripping-drug-fueled-brother's-wife-banging life.

The silly symbolism of one old lady and her gang of dunces visiting Taiwan means nothing.

Oh, sure, it is  1926 after all.

Said message can be succinctly delivered in thought, word and deed 365 days a year.

Like a nuke dropped on Beijing?  That's the kind of message they might understand.
