Yes Tyrod was a better rusher, but not by much and Fitz threw a lot more INTs. Tyrod was far too conservative and afraid to take chance whereas Fitz didnt care much about the stats, he would do what he thought he had to to win, one of the reasons he threw so many Q4 ints when he would launch the ball to try win it in the end. Brandon Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 1) Ryan Fitzpatrick 2) Tyrod Taylor 3) Drew Bledsoe There's no much separating these three from each other, but it's a considerable drop-off to the next tier, which would include, in no particular order, Kyle Orton, Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie and maybe JP Losman. 1 Quote

They averaged like 20 points/ game (I could be wrong but they have averaged more than with EJ that year or it was very close) and they had one of the greatest defenses in Bills history that year. no one will agree because everyone hates Whaley but if Allen on those teams, they were a SB team. Fitz wasn’t in the same universe when it came to rushing. 1 hour ago, RoyBatty is alive said: Tyrod was far too conservative and afraid to take chance whereas Fitz didnt care much about the stats, he would do what he thought he had to to win, one of the reasons he threw so many Q4 ints when he would launch the ball to try win it in the end. Being risky and aggressive is a bad trait if it rarely pays off. Fitzpatrick led 4 4th quarter comebacks in 4 seasons. Tyrod had 3 in 3 seasons and somehow managed to not throw a crap ton of interceptions. Edited July 19, 2022 by gobills404 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 (edited) Flutie, Tyrod and Fitz in whatever order you want. There isn’t anyone else in the conversation (Orton is next). Please, please, please do not say Bledsoe. I posted his stats in that Tyrod thread. If you like 57% completion, more turnovers than TDs, 110 sacks in 40 games and a losing record, he’s your man. Don’t let the 8 game stretch fool you. If you do that, count that Trent Edwards 5 game stretch. Bledsoe was so bad but for some reason people remember it differently. No one has been given the benefit of the doubt more than him. He stinks. Edited July 19, 2022 by Kirby Jackson 1 Quote

Curious how each of you would rank the Bills quarterbacks between 1997-2017, here are your options: Todd Collins Doug Flutie Rob Johnson (pro tip: this is not the answer) Alex Van Pelt Drew Bledsoe J.P. Losman Kelly Holcomb Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick Brian Brohm E.J. Manuel Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Kyle Orton Tyrod Taylor Matt Cassel Nathaniel Peterman Who are your top 3? Why do you want to torture yourself (and everyone else…) Quote

Kirby Jackson Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 I’ll take a crack at ranking them: Doug Flutie Tyrod Taylor Ryan Fitzpatrick Kyle Orton Rob Johnson Drew Bledsoe JP Losman Trent Edwards EJ Manuel Kelly Holcomb Thad Lewis Alex Van Pelt Matt Cassel Todd Collins Jeff Tuel Nathaniel Peterman Quote
Buffalo Boy Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 Flutie was a weak armed bum with “ small man syndrome “ on teams with great defenses and good rushing attacks. The only Bills QB I remember who was better at chucking it into the turf short of his receivers due to lack of arm talent was old Vince Ferragamo. Put wonder boy Dougie on the 2002 team and it’s a 4-12 season at best. Quote
